A DAY OR SO IN MY LIFE! WHO CARES?

Oh boy things are in a mess. We are still signing Christmas Cards but most are ready and many have been given out. I am toasting pecans, making candy and cookies. Messing up the kitchen and den and loving every minute of it. Yes I am doing other things but these are taking a lot of my time because Christmas is a time of sharing love. When I knew, George had a job I was so excited even with all the drawbacks I saw then. I loved your comments, as I always do; you all are so much encouragement to us. Of course all of you know George has been out of work for more than three years. At first he thought he needed to refresh and gain some new techniques in the age of electronics. So he went back to school got what he expected to be a ticket to a different avenue of work. Oh it has been different. He graduated with honors and set out to work in the new field. Nothing! That is always an empty question to the ask-er. We would not ask if we knew. Those possibilities we conjure up are always something fearful, at least if you allow fear to take an upper hand. The horror of the children's massacre and shootings in our state and others about the country leave all under some sort of fear. THIS COUNTRY IS UNDER JUDGEMENT: I cannot imagine how horrible it is in this school where a person has killed 20 little children. I am sure it is no different at my house than at other's. I am running here and there. It is so wonderful to give a Christmas card to an unsuspecting person explaining I just want to let them know that The Christian Community loves them. Jesus loves them and one who has the rebirth of Jesus Christ has Christmas every day. I learned new things this year. Twenty-nine years ago, today George and I said I do and we still do. He did the services today I was too tired we have had a tiring week although a good one. We went out to lunch. The dough is rising, the table is set, the pie is over baked and o'well. I am having a small luncheon for only four of us tomorrow but it has run me around. Why? How do I know? Forgive me for bringing religion on to a journal post but this is the season of the Christians and I want to point out a few things. We Christians, get all fired up about Christmas. There are those who look forward all year to this season so they may lay on the blame. We are too busy to care with few exceptions. I am amazed at the differences in our weather. I have lived in this area except for a few years all my long life. I never fail to be surprised and amazed at the fluctuations in temperature and happenings. Last week I had a long swath of Canna lilies that were still blooming and the color was rich green. Friday night it got really cold the temp went down stairs and today they are ugly yellow brown. Within two yards of them are lovely huge Savoy cabbage plants working daily to make their heads,... Oh I remember when I bought my first home. I was so proud of it. Lots of things needed to be changed but a little hard work would make the place a doll house or some such. It certainly had no comparison to my parents home. That was not a problem they were expected to have a nice home by the time I was married and having children. Things have changed today. When we arrived for our two church services for the Nursing Home today we were met at the door and informed they had been unable to reach us earlier and all the residents on the South Wing were ill and would not be able to come to church today. They told us the Court Yard residents had no illness. They told us this had been highly contagious and we could choose to go or not to visit with them ourselves, either would be fine.
