PI believe that God created the world. Jesus is the Word. And His name’s said in, wishing Merry Christmas love. BC-A, Bill’s R®st

I love your pagan view.  I think Jimmy is a bit more no see, no do, yes it is not about extravagance at all. Those who are really loving the joy of Christmas is not involved in buying so many things, certainly not more than they can afford. As long as anyone does not want to deny the rights to celebrate Christmas I am fine with all this. You be blessed my pagan friend  I keep praying for you to change your mind.

Well Justi, I just take it all as it comes, I suppose we  could celebrate a lot worse things and some hearts soften a wee bit over the occasion.

Here is a pagan's view!

I agree with Jimmy that Christmas has become excessively commercialized. But while that is regrettable, I still look forward to Christmas…

I look forward to Christmas because it reminds me of my childhood and the special magic that surrounded it…

I look forward to Christmas because it belongs to a religion that is part of my tradition, my civilization, and hence part of me…

I look forward to Christmas because it is an occasion for people to think about their faith and renew it, and that is a good thing…

And I always wish people a Merry Christmas...

well that is one of the beautiful things about staying Child like. I can

just celebrate Christmas without stress and know that God is love, he sent his son to be amongst us. What could be more simple and more happy. I simply believe that if I can glow with the Love of God, some one somewhere may think...me too!

Sometimes the hardest of hearts are the most tender and receptive at the Christmas season.  I believe that God touches hearts through the beautiful Christmas music and the abundance of people sharing with those in need.

Thank you for reading. No offense taken.  It is totally unimportant what day we think he was born. This is a time of the year when we, my huaband and I, can bring the love of Christ directly to the people. I have been going to church for 76 years. I know the value of it. I have studied the Bible that long almost. I think there is far more good in studying the Bible than studying books about the Bible. We work with people all year but those who have no family, no friends just no body at a time of celebration will listen to a Christian bring them a word that opens the door to their receiving faith. We see the love of God extended to those of the poorest to the most affluent in our area. Jesus did not tell us to do such, he also did not tell us to stop things, activities that would draw the non believer to him. James tells us to show works with our faith and we do.  I am sorry you do not look forward to Christmas. Just to show the addicts etc., who see no hope that we are not declaring the day but the gift of Christ because our God made available to us the gift of everlasting life through the gift of His Son the greatest gift of all time.

Okay, this might be a tough one, but here goes . . . I am one of those Christians who actually does not look forward to Christmas for one simple reason: besides it having turned into an expensive, pain-in-the-butt event, it actually contradicts the teachings of the Bible, especially the passage you just quoted. I was a member of a Christian Brothers Fellowship for two years, and what I learned over that time period was astounding! If you know your New Testiment, you'll know that the only thing Christ asked His followers to do in remembrance of Him was the Sacrament! He never said "On the day you think I was born, cut down and drag a tree into your home, decorate it any way you'd like, and then exchange gifts with each other!" That was completely Man's doing! ( There is a segment of a chapter in the Old Testiment that attributed "the tree ceremony" to a celebration concerning Nimrod. It had nothing to do with Christ! ). Yes, there is indeed an "attack" going on against Christians and Christianity, and Christmas will always be a big target. But perhaps, if true believers went to a church or a bible study seminar instead of the mall this Christmas, they can send a message and make more people understand the true meaning behind Christmas, which is not necessarily for celebrating Christ's birthday as much as it might be looked upon as an end-of-the-year rejoicing in Christ in general! That's just the way I see it, and no offense was meant!
