DO YOU EVER GET OVERWHELEMED BY STUFF?

I hope I haven't left a potato somewhere on my desk. Anything could grow there. I cut my land line telephone so I would not get so many irritating unwanted telephone calls. Now I may have to fire the postman for bringing me such a load of unwanted mail. I thought everybody wrote to one another with email today. Not so. I get junk mail from every organization in the world. Credit card invitations, bank opportunities even appraisals on my home I didn't even solicit. Oh it is no longer good enough... DO YOU HAVE A PERSONAL WEB PAGE

Well I asked myself, "Self what would I do with a personal web page?" I don't give the people I know as much attention as I should. Why try to find others? I have all sorts of methods for sharing photographs. Why would I do that when I don't have little ones anymore, a special hobby or unusual pets? I sat down and gave this concept a real thinking about. None of these are the real reasons. The real reason is: I am not that interesting or that interested in the world at large anymore. The Blogit... Sign in to see full entry.

WHY ARE BLOGGERS SO SPECIAL

It is certainly not because all of us live in Chicago, absolutely not. There are people on here from most of the states, somebody at one time was keeping track of that. We are from so many countries. Some from very large countries such as India, Australia and Africa who may not even have much of an idea where the others of your own country really are. I don't really think it is because you are so cute. I agree we are all cute. I have seen some of your photographs just as you have mine. Cute we... Sign in to see full entry.

ARE YOU A MOTHER WITHOUT CHILDREN - NURTURING IS A BLESSING!

ROSES ARE RED AND ALL OTHER COLORS; VIOLETS ARE NOT BLUE THEY ARE PURPLE! Some wear white rose on Mother's Day if their mothers are deceased and red rose if their mothers are living. Most people do not wear flowers anymore except to some such thing as a prom. We used to wear corsages for all sorts of occasions. Of course so many of us grew our own flowers. Being a mother does not require that you physically give birth to a child in my humble opinion. I know many women who are such nurturing... Sign in to see full entry.

LIGHT FORCES DARKNESS AWAY FROM THE ISSUE

I love the way the light plays on this tree. George is good at taking photographs that have strange and wonderful light play. This is the way I look at life and the people on the play board. Do you ever run into some who have no light left. They may be bubbly, ranting or just going on but there is no sincerity to them in regards to the person they are talking to. I do mean talking to, they don't do well in that thing called conversation or talking with. They have a way, a word, a method and... Sign in to see full entry.

THANK YOU SO MUCH TAPS

When you want something done you need to ask someone who hates to flat out say. "No, no way would I do that. I can't believe you asked me to do that. I never liked this anyway." I knew Taps would never be rude. But I never expected her to go ahead and give us all these recipes. I learned something about Taps, her ancestry and have new and delightful base recipes to play with. These are definitely meals from a long time ago. They are meals of peasant stock, yet here they have been incredibly... Sign in to see full entry.

Wow Paris is in a dither... France has a conservative president!

Well the lady with the name she hoped to make a permanent fixture has lost to the conservative. Ms. Royal came out screaming, demanding and flopping like a landed flounder last week in a debate with Sarkozy. It cost her as it should. Sounds like some stuff on this side of the Pond. The spoiled hit the streets in Paris and other cities against the vote. We will see yet another country hating their president as so many in this country can see no good in the man. There is something wrong with a... Sign in to see full entry.

Need Fodder? Grow Corn.

I am just hanging out in my writing corn crib so to speak. When i was little I would watch my Grandfather go through the corn fields on his land and pull the leaves off the stalks. He rented his land to other farmers who needed more land to farm. They did not use their corn stalk leaves so Papa did. He pulled these and put them into bundles and fed them to his horses and cows. I guess it was like our eating fiber. When I grew up I learned the word was used more to describe an excess to be used... Sign in to see full entry.

THE BUZZ HAS GONE

When I say we know so much now I am certainly not talking about myself. I am talking about what Science has learned or is it what they have surmised and are searching out? Either way they are now working on more and more weird things that perhaps were never expected to happen because they are strange but could be life and death situations. There has been a lot of talk about the disturbing disappearance of our honey bee population. Albert Einstein once said "If all the bees died man would have... Sign in to see full entry.

I AM JUST KICKED BACK READING THE CURRENT NEWS

Well, well nothing is new under the sun. The wisest man who ever lived said that and surely it is true. I can see from the news I am reading today of the happenings of the years between 1226 BC and 1064 BC give or take a year or two is not a lot different than today. In that day the Middle East was pretty much as today, or near so. War was going on among the the Philistines, Canaanites, Sidonians, Hivites, Jebusites, Perrazites, Amalikites and the Hitites and all the Hebrews or Jews. The twelve... Sign in to see full entry.

MIXED MESSAGES, WHO? NO.

This thing with Alec Baldwin has been a very frustrating thing for me. There are definitely two camps here. Please tell me your thoughts. We tell children to tell someone if a parent is abusive. Can you imagine a child trying to tell someone and get any response if both their parents are famous, wealthy and involved in a several year legal battle? Nobody would have listened. Whoever leaked it served a purpose that may not have been the goal but was a good one anyway. The message comes out.... Sign in to see full entry.

I WANT TO SHARE SOME FLOWERS AND SUNSHINE

The white Iris bloomed a few weeks ago. These came along last week I love these fragile but hardy flowers. They come in all colors. I have been seeing where so many of you are still getting snow, some having horrible storms and this is to cheer you on that spring is just around the corner. We have had bad stormy weather this year but it has passed through here for now. We are praying for all of you in those areas. Be blessed. Sign in to see full entry.

CAN YOU SAY EVIL?

It seems on May 18, 1927 a man named Andrew Kehoe, a member of the Bath Township, Michigan school board killed and injured more people than the evil killer at Virginia Tech. This man had to be totally evil. A school tax had been levied it. He alleged the additional taxes put him into financial ruin. His farm was to be foreclosed. For months Kehoe planted hundreds of pounds of pyrotol in the school and used a detonator to ignite dynamite to blow up a school of small children up to the sixth... Sign in to see full entry.

IT IS VERY DIFFERENT AT YOUR PLACE

One of the things I love so much about Blogit is seeing photographs or hearing people talk about their environment in different places all over the world. I can see myself walking through incredibly lush and green woods with no possibility of having a snake fall out on me when Proc posts about New Zealand. Tanga's post take me on a visual Safari (not hunting) go fishing with Crocodiles and camping with Hippos munching grass around the tents at night. Or his stories and photographs of Lions,... WORLDS COLIDE

I was first surprised by the comments I received by comparing violence to violence in my first post on VT incident. One person suggested I see my Spiritual Advisor. Others just went off into lala land about my writing as if I had broken a social code, a human code or a spiritual code. I did neither. Soon after I have posted that I was made aware that Borak Obama had done the same thing. I have not read a single post against him! What? Is it just that my world and yours are so different they... IS IT FEAR, CONTRAST, OR DO WE NOT KNOW?

I have offended several people in the previous post. This was certainly not intentional. I can't imagine how no one minds if there are posts on the very ignorance of Christians on Blogit. There are and I consider that to be their right. However; my faith is the most important thing in my life. I am hurt when people speak about a religion they do not understand, even rewrite the Bible. Their work is not to be taken up by me I am not competent to rail over their knowledge or their lack of... Sign in to see full entry.

HOW BAD WILL THE DAY GET BEFORE IT IS OVER

I am sure I share this with all of you; a broken heart for all the families of the Virginia Tech school. From the first I heard about it the count has gone from 22 to 34. How could one person have done all this without coming to himself enough to stop? I don't have much news except that it was a man, only one shooter and he took the cowards way out and shot himself. It is much like a suicide bomber doing his work here in the United States. 26,000 thousand under grad students, don't know how many... Sign in to see full entry.

THE ODD THING I LEARNED ON BLOGIT

There are times when you see, hear or read stuff so much you either become immune to it of just pass it off as inane. I am often hurt for someone when people are insulting in some manner to them, especially when they have done nothing to the person voicing the shaming words. Most of the time the people being shamed may be trying to overcome some addiction, hurt, wrong done to them or by them that brings them criticism. The women I work with are often shunned by others. It is difficult for them... Sign in to see full entry.

WE HAVE OURSELVES A DADDY FINALLY....

I am sure the figure is far too large for me to calculate, but it is somewhere in the 400,000,000 category that this little girl will inherit if the case goes forward in her favor. Danny Lynn Smith, Burkett will now know who her daddy is even if it was not known until after her mother's death. Would daddy have been so eager to care for her, own her and claim her if she had not been orphaned with such prospects. I hope so! This has been a sad, never ending yellow journal travesty going on and on... Sign in to see full entry.

SPRING HAS TRULY SPRUNG

Easter is the true indicator of spring. It is time to pack away the coats, maybe even some of the sweaters. You will not need them again until fall. In the South that should be about the time of the first football game. There was a time when you dressed for four seasons. After Easter you wore pastels, stripes and checkered seersuckers, linen, piques, voile and organdy fabrics. They all needed to be starched and ironed perfectly except the seersuckers. Get the feet in good shape, select summer... Sign in to see full entry.
