Justi It was the first thought to enter my brain upon waking this morning
and i felt this pain, this really real pain.  Like the sadness of this event echoes around the world.  I found myself shedding tears.  It really is sad.

As Pat B said
You had me a little confused with your closing comment.  Yes... the shootings in Virginia were very tragic and senseless - beyond comprehension. It's a tragedy that will leave a permanent imprint on many lives.

You read somewhere that stated I was born in Eastern Europe????????????????

You read very wrong Justi! East Detroit maybe; but not east Europe.

I was born in 1960 in Hamtramck Michigan, which is bordered with Detroit. I have lived there my entire life until the age of 37 when I moved to Sterling Heights, about 20 miles north of Detroit. I have been to Canada to visit, and have been to Cancun Mexico a few times on vacation; but I have never been to Europe, east or west.

You obviously got the wrong David, sorry about that.

I sometimes wonder if the bullets that kill come from people who are limited with their words and the way they express themselves.   Some people are adept with words that can kill the heart of a sensitive person just as bullets can kill the body.

Justi, it might be less confusing to the readers if you stick to one point.
To link the Virginia Tech murders to a prediction of disaster if we pull out of Iraq is illogical and a bit frantic. Have you considered talking with your spiritual advisor?

Seriously Justi
I think you should calmly read over your comments. This stuff is bordering on hate-propoganda.

The killer had nothing to do with the Middle-East. How on earth can you suggest, therefore, that pulling out of Iraq would create a spate of these killings. Is there nothing sacred; nothing that you won't mischeviously and indirectly blame on Muslims.

No I do not, nor did I say that incidents would be stopped; in fact I said nothing about stopping them? The concept that a person is a Christian because they were born into a Membership Christian family does not make them a Christian, nor the family for that matter. I am not thinking of Christian versus anybody. I am thinking that 10, 20 100 or however many hav been killed on a consistent basis for years and years in Israel and Lebanon; in fact we have had from one to 3,000 killed by terrorists. Bobby Kennedy was a single murder then the twin towers were 3,000. If we pull out before the job is finished we will have left the door open for those who are here to finish what they purpose to do. The scene today will be small as to what the future will be. I thought I read once where you were raised in Eastern Europe so even if you were born in 1960 you were not free yet were you; you were not living here all that time were you? Which is the true living situation?

No society can be free from such incidents whether it is in Iraq or any
other country . YOu cannot cut your nose to snub your face but the terrorists do it .

I was born in 1960, meaning I was indeed alive when they all happened

I was also alive when the Oklahoma bombing occured. I also happen to know that every instance I mention was carried out not by a "middle eastern muslim suicide bomber"; but by a person was was born, raised and at the time of there death; was a Christian; not a suicide bomber!

You can wipe out every so called "middle eastern terrorist" off the planet, you can also wipe out anyone who isn't Christian off the planet too.

Do you really think that will stop incidents like what happened today from re-occurring? Guess again!

I am very aware of these happenings I was living in this country when all thse mentioned happened. Were you? I am glad to know you have boned up on your American History. There is something sinister anywhere about random killing. Nowhere is it glorified other than in the Middle East. Do you somehow think the parents, friends or children of those killed by these cheap terrorists feel any less pain than these killed here today?

posted by Justi on April 16, 2007 at 6:05 PM | link to this | reply

This is not the first time this has happened

A guy went crazy in the 60's on a campus, killing people from a tower at the University of Texas. A man in 1984 shot up a McDonalds, killing 21 people. Two teenagers wne tcrazy in Colombine in the 90's. I could create a list here a mile long; starting shortly after the Mayflower arrived here and ending with what happened today!

But the thing is: what in the hell does that have to do with Iraq?

LIke I said, this post was some kind of political statement that I find very tasteless in a post I thought was about an American tragedy.

A man walked up shot as many people as possible while killing himself. This is the aim of suicide bombers, they go into weddings, markets not anyone they know or airm at personally just kill as many as is possible. Would you be so kind as to explain the difference? This man was a crazed killer. So are they.

Thank you.

It was for sure a tragedy what happened
But to try and equate this to what suicide bombers do is less than tasteful. It's just my opinion but there should be a time and a place to make a political or social statement; this is not one of of them.
