Packing it in...

Some people pack the bare necessities, planning to wash out the dainties in the sink every night, and have two of anything else, one set of which they are wearing at any given moment. They get on the plane and off again with a neat little carry-on, and never have to wait and wait and wait and wait... for the luggage carousel to begin moving. They never ever pay for extra luggage. grabbing a few minutes...

Funny, how hard it is to keep a grasp on them, they just keep on running through my fingers like... time... (wink to Naut!) I'm at the wifi Starbucks in Estes Park this morning, after a couple of hours up the road (Hwy 7) to take a few pictures, the better of which are currently loading over to Flickr. So-- Who's in Germany?

The new blogs are getting some traffic from unexpected places. I know this, because there is a stats page that shows a global map of where readers are reading from. There are many from the US and Canada, naturally... some from Russia, on one or two of the blogs, which I explained before. Malaysia--just one from there, that's one of our friends here, Shobana. the Writing of History

I found a little piece I wrote some years ago, about the terrible iconic familty of Renaissance Italy, the Borgias. It tied in nicely with some things I was thinking about, and I decided to post it yonder in blogspot. Having done this, I re-read it again, as I do... and decided I needed more information... searched out a few more accounts of their lives and times--realized that my original information was rather seriously flawed, so went back in and made some adjustments. Another CPTSD moment...

The new laptop has some sort of glitch in it somewhere... and when Staples says they make everything EASY! well... they lie. They could not be making it more complicated and frustrating to get this dealt with, if they made it their whole goal in their corporate exitence. I am feeling overwhelmed today with disappointments. Why does nothing work out? Why is the good I get either superficial, or just turns out to be false? Why do I have to work so hard to gain so little ground? I know I've had... Passages

Today, it sank in: it is autumn! I had noticed, on some level, that the days are not quite as long as they were a few weeks ago, but until TAPS' post today brought it into my conscious attention, I had not yet looked around, and realized, yes... it's back. This prompted my prompt in my writing blog, and then sent me outside to see just how autumn it is. Davy-dog has the brain of a border collie.

I've said it before, and will say it again: he thinks he is a lot smaller than those other genes (we suspect German shepherd) actually grew him. When he really was smaller, he used to sit on laps. Travel plans!

Today I committed to a trip to DC, and will be there from the end of September to the beginning of November. Yay! Over a month in the neighborhood of both my gals, and their households! My daughter and her husband, now returned from New Zealand, will be moving into their new house a few days before I arrive, so that will be some fun. Then, I have a birthday to celebrate, and towards the end of October, will be looking after things while she and husband fly off to celebrate his grandmother's... Sign in to see full entry.
