Eclipse Day!
The morning sun is shining brightly through the back porch door and I am pondering on the eclipse today from the solar point of view. It is a kind of natural wonder and happy chance that seen from Earth the Moon's disc exactly fits over that of the Sun on such occasions. The Moon is in its 'new' phase, the only side we ever see from here turned towards us so all we see of it is the shadow passing over a limited portion of the Earth.
