HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEAUTIFUL WOMAN

America is a beautiful country. She was born a Christian country far too many do not know their total history. I shall stand for her today as if she were my daughter in a flurry of pain. I will sing her songs. I will tailgate the picnic of Hot Dogs (Nathans), watermelon and corn on the cob of course with chocolate cake and lemonade. We will watch our local lighted boat parade and the fireworks to follow. HAPPY 4TH OF JULY MAY THE NATIONS BIRTHDAY BE GLORIOUS THOSE NOT IN THE USE MAY YOU ALSO... Sign in to see full entry.

INDEPENDENCE DAY IS DUE THURSDAY - WILL IT BE A FARCE?

I am afraid this is the first Independence Day in my 77 years that I have felt there was no freedom any more. We have no Independence from government. It is a sad day in the United States of America. Nothing makes sense anymore our Whitehouse is closed to children tours because it cost too much. Something like $6,000 per month. Many citizens have offered to pay for those already scheduled, no not acceptable. The President and his family are in Africa for no significant business but the cost is... Sign in to see full entry.

ANOTHER GREAT WEEKEND

Our Sundays are always interesting and joyful, some more than others. It takes a while to get to know some of the residents. About six months ago a lovely woman came in to the home and she was clear eyed and sweet, carried on good conversations and appeared from all appearances to be in the wrong area. She was in the Alzheimer unit. I have talked with her a lot there are few in that area that can carry on a conversation even to tell you how they feel. I always go around and hug all of them. I... SUMMER OR SUMMER YOU ARE STRONG THIS YEAR

It is time for hot weather, but never has it been so hot, so early, and so consistently. I am thankful we have cooling. Just made me think. I vividly remember as a child we had no air conditioning. I don't even remember having a fan. It did not seem as hot as it has since I have become accustomed to air conditioning. They used various methods one was cross ventilation and the windows and doors were rarely closed just a screen door and screens on the windows. I do not know how my mother managed... THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH

I do so appreciate every person who reads my blogs. There are many who never do, that is fine. There are some who never have even when I read theirs they never did mine or if they did they never commented. Perhaps a lot of that is due to the fact that I may be a bit quirky to many. I am somewhat abrupt as I tell things as well as I know them to be the truth so I don't have to try to fix it later. Also print is so different than speaking to another person. I think of you as a sort of family. I... Sign in to see full entry.

I WAITED 'TILL ALL THE CHILDREN CALLED

I want to tell all you fathers you are far more important than you can imagine. I want to tell you how much you are to be valued not just the sweet calls the kids give you or the new tee shirt; I guess ties and socks are passe'. Oh why go into this thing about what we should and should not do? There is little value in milk already spilled. I just want to say to all who are fathers and love your children may God bless you abundantly. You are so important to your children. It is your love they... Sign in to see full entry.

IS THE EXTRA LIFE SPAN LENGTH WORTH THE TROUBLE

IS THE EXTRA LENGTH WORTH THE TROUBLE If I had just come back from having been dead, I would be so confused. Not because I was living again but where am I? Who am I? Too much change too quickly is befuddling. My grandparents had four children before the Wright Brothers made the first flying machine. I remember about forty years after the Wright brother’s experiment one Sunday at church the preacher was preaching on our remaining the same in spirit but adapting in this war time to the positive... ABOUT AS INTERESTING AS AN ORDINARY ROCK

There has been absolutely too much going on in the government lately for me to have anything to say on this blog. George and I do little of interesting consequence. Today it is raining softly from the Hurricane, Andrea and our garden is smiling. Bet that tidbit of news floated your boat to the shore. If it didn't try this, we are trying to teach our baby cat, Buddy to patty cake. I know a lot of you on here are not from the USA. I have opened my political blog again. Since everything we write,... WHO ARE WE

I am so often puzzled by what I see in the different programs George and I work. Puzzles that do not seem to have answers. Issues that the professionals have no answers for or do not apply them. It makes me sad sometimes at the delusions I have experienced so long after I studied so carefully to erase some of the predominate behaviors of today. Of course there is an almost fifty year span between school and application. But I began college as a bright eyed bushy tailed kid so eager to learn... Sign in to see full entry.

THINK ABOUT IT AND OFFER YOUR INPUT

Pray for all of Oklahoma. Ask for God's miricals now! This is the geographic heart of our country! It rains on the just and the unjust. This is not happening because we are not green. In my opinion this is a vast wake up call. Oklahome took it for all of us, God is not happy one whit with the morals and lack of respect from our country. Sign in to see full entry.

Day-lilies began to bloom and changed every thing.

My vinegar and jelly making changed mid stream when I realized the Day-lilies were blooming. I am sure you have seen these before I make them every year but they are delicious and do not last long. The vinegar is perfect for a very long time but the Day-lilies wilt or become droopy looking in a couple of weeks and you can eject them. These are so good with the Rosemary and the Rosemary blossoms, Thyme, peppercorns and garlic powder. I use them on beans from green pole beans to pintos, pork loin,... Sign in to see full entry.

BEAUTIFUL DAY IN PARADISE

Today I am resetting flowers, harvesting Garlic and Onions. I am also about to make Rosemary and Thyme jelly and vinegar. The vinegar is great on beans, pork, lamb and many other uses find your favorite. The jelly is great with lamb and pork. And of course I will make more garlic jelly but not all today. I have finally found a cat that does not mind water. We have this little yellow long haired something about three months old that just came to our house and we can't find the owners. He goes... Wow, clean once again...

When all the water problems were taken care of I began to clean. It somehow seemed as if nothing had been cleaned in forever. George installed some new stuff in one bathroom and all is on it's way to becoming better. Nautikos mentioned that so many were into gardening. Well that includes us. We have cucumbers, okra, pole beans, tomatoes, bell peppers, sweet potatoes, and we are about to do our drum with potatoes. We have our herbs going: Basil, Dill, Mexican Tarragon, Lemon Grass, Sage, Sweet... Sign in to see full entry.

MIRACLES DO HAPPEN, ALL THE TIME.

The gas company called George this morning and told him someone would be out soon to check out our problem and if it was their fault they would take care of the Plumbers and Backhoe bills. If it was not we would be responsible for the whole thing. They were there a few minutes later digging up the sidewalk. These are the main gas lines not those to the houses. Within ten minutes George received another call. The people at the Gas company told him get all the bills for the work and have them... Sign in to see full entry.

THE PLOT WORSENS

By mid afternoon we had a full crew of men and most of them scratching their heads. Then two more come in with a backhoe. It looked more like a conference than a project. George came in and called the gas company, the water board and some group from the Highway Department. We live in a Historical District but not nearly all of the houses have been put on the Historical list and apparently we do not have to ask them if we paint a room or anything. This area still has the old sidewalks. The gas... Sign in to see full entry.

OH MY WE NO LONGER HAVE A LITTLE HOUSE OUT BACK

Thank God for Plumbers! We have one here that I am hoping does not tick his time to the end of my money. He is worth every penny it cost he is working in the hot sun. He is dealing with problems that have simply driven us almost crazy for a couple of days. I am not a diva. I do not mind that I do not have the latest glam bathrooms but when I do laundry and it forgets where to drain and the bath tub, shower and toilet back up it is a bit tedious. The only thing that works well is the kitchen sink... Sign in to see full entry.

AN AWESOME MOTHERS DAY

My daughter called me a couple of times and two of my step children called me and friends did so I had a wonderful Mothers Day as far as the family and friends go. There was an awesome happening at the nursing home that made this an unforgettable Mothers Day. If you are a Christian woman who teaches other women about the Bible or help them in learning ministerial activities and growth in their walk with the Lord you may be called a Spiritual Mother by these people. I have worked with some women... Sign in to see full entry.

ONE COMMON DENOMINATOR TO US ALL

Yes this is true makes no difference who we are, where we live or where we were born; we have one thing in common. In this instance both men and women have the same thing. It is a common carrier. You know I did not think too much about this until my first instance as carrier. We are certainly not all mothers but we all have a mother regardless of who we are. This Sunday we will celebrate Mother's Day. Not all mothers are what we hasten to call 'good mothers', nor are all of them 'bad mothers',... Sign in to see full entry.

HOW CAN PEOPLE DO WHAT THEY DO?

Three women rescued from a hell of sorts. Did they loose ten years of their lives? Oh no they lost all the joys of teen age years, they lost confidence, they lost their families, friends, boy friends of their choosing and most of all their basic freedom. There were four women we are told, where the other is maybe we will learn. There were five pregnancies only one child is visible. These things maybe we will learn. If learning all these things mean disturbing the peace and adjustment to some... Sign in to see full entry.

MAY YOUR WEEK BE AWESOME

We have had loads of rain. A few thunderstorms and now very cool for this time of the year. Those are all good things compared to those in California now with all the fire. It seems there is some sort of disaster somewhere on a weekly basis. I can only pray for them as I am unable to do anything else. I have not been feeling well, nothing to bother about but too slow to do anything of any significance. So I have done little reading and no writing. I purposely wrote before I began reading today....
