A DAY OR SO IN MY LIFE! WHO CARES?

I think I have told you we have a church ministry in our county for the homeless. To review it runs like this: There are 21 churches participating in this. In the fall and winter there are pick up points for the homeless to be picked up and taken to one of the 21 churches, nightly where they are fed, visited with, they can read, play games and there have someone to talk with about whatever is bothering them. There are lots of things that need to be cleaned up, freshened and completed in this world today. It has ever been thus and will always be. I am so looking forward to this year. Now that you have all the things you wished for, have eaten far more than you needed and you are totally ready for a nice Frangelico and coffee before the fire for New Year's Eve, go for it. All is well that ends well. I never went back to Mr. Honeycutt’s house and he never came to mine. Momma never brought that up but she did not like living in these houses that looked just like all other houses but she did pretty well. How these attorneys finagled this I do not know but I found myself being welcomed to the witness stand to state my case. I was trembling. I had always heard those who represent themselves always lose. We will see. Bam, bam, these sounds were coming from the front door. I felt the other side of the bed and John was not there. I heard loud cursing coming from the front door. I slipped into the next bedroom pulled out my daddy’s shotgun, loaded it and did not actually know why. The pistol was in a room by the door where the sounds were coming from. It has been several months since I visited the Gypsy camp and we still live in the look-alike houses. Momma wants to go back to the country. We go home on some weekends but not often because gas is rationed and we ride the bus when we can. Where I live is a base but only officers are stationed there. Civilians, like daddy, man it. Yesterday I wrote about sitting with my daddy listening to President Roosevelt declare ware on Japan. And Nautikos was surprised at the memory of the incident after 72 years. I was a family that kept their history and as accurate as possible. I have been writing those for a long time. Seventy two years ago today I remember exactly where I was. I sat in my daddy's lap in his big brown leather chair much like those they have today; although it did not fold and all that stuff, it was great. For those of you who were born since Pearl Harbor which is almost all of you, there was no television. You cannot know how happy I am today. The last three days have been absolutely great. Little by little my sleep problems are righting themselves. My pain is manageable now and I am controlling the other physical/mental problems. My meds are down to five with two of them twice per day. I was given exercises to do and write. In both cases it is helping and I don't know how. I don't know how I over looked some of the obvious issues. Are all who have a major in Psychology broken? Who knows? I can... We had a lovely Thanksgiving. This is a very small town and most people have family nearby so usually we have only my daughter and her family, they join us one year and her husband's family the next. George's children join their mother for Holidays. They live a six to seven hours drive, that is terrible for a one day's stay. We help with a Thanksgiving Dinner for the city to those who don't have food. It began several years ago in our church and now five churches come together to do this.... Sign in to see full entry.

Today I want to the doctor for my check up. I had several tests and a good session with the doctor. I don't know anything else yet. I went with a long list this time and it appears all roads lead to Rome. It seems the same things we though were wrong are still the culprits but with different symptoms. She did give me some new meds and we don't know how that will work. I begin them tonight. I will write again after she calls. Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers. We do have problems with cats. We love them too much, we take in any and allow them to roam as they choose. This has been home ally for cats since we moved here almost 25 years ago. The first scrawny little thing that came was a waif kitten so we thought, we fed her and put off taking her to the vet until she was comfortable here and grew a bit she was a baby or so we thought. I told you our car died. Well today I, yes I drove home a beautiful little car that is several years old and beautiful. It truly looks like the one owned by one little lady who drove it to church on Sundays only. She is a nice cream color, not a spot inside, not a ding, not a scratch with a six CD changer and plays old tapes too. Seriously I can't tell you how really lovely she is. Ten days is a long time away from this site and those I love to see blogs and comments from. I have to take a few more days away. We have a few business issues that are taking up our time right now plus our faithful old Volvo station wagon has died, kaput, gone and of course we will have to have a memorial service for her. loll I am not mad (not at anyone) the jury is still out on whether I am in a mental state.
