You and George are my heros. I wonder if the love and care you both give to others could ever be counted.

Oops. I am writing from a tablet that I touch and often a touch is off the mark. So, my finger was not pointed on icon that it sent. Any way, I read your post with interest. I read the previous one also. I am back and step by step catching up on reading those I read previously.

There are so many things going on in a Nursing Home. They may have some area open that you would like to fill or you may come up with something unusual to work with them. You and Ben could go visit with them which they would love. You would be such a blessing. Everybody is not there to take the story of Jesus.

For someone who had nothing to write about . . .
Hey, we all get in that position from time to time. And isn't it a bit ironic that areas of our country still reeling from flooding and expanding rivers are still getting rain, while California continues to burn with nary a cloud in sight! Either Mother Nature is getting Her chores and scheduling mixed up, or someone behind the scenes has a twisted sense of humor . . .

I'm sorry you have not been feeling well. At our ages that does have a tendency to come and go doesn't it. So glad you are writing anyway. I worry about you when you go a long time without contacting us.

I sure hope your weather improves soon - ours is absolutely fantastic right now! How would you lie 80F under a cloudless sky? And have I told you how much I admire you and George for the work you're doing? So much so, in fact, that I've begun to think about doing a little volunteer work at one of those old folks outfits myself, not too far from here. Except, of course, that I couldn't tell them much about Jesus, LOL...

Glad to see you are taking it easy though not so much that you are not feeling 100% Sometimes when Spring springs we are just not ready for it. Therere is too much stimulation of our senses that have been deprived all winter ... rains and thunder herald change and we go into a kind of psychic shock... a slow down so to speak... but don't worry :-) usually we come out of it right quick and jump into the beauty G-d is gifting us with. It is hard to work with older folks... When I was at the university a professor walked into the classroom and started talking to us about the perils of studying medicine. He told us to get ready that he would bring us a new patient's room so that we could see for ourselves the immense need of help this patient had. As we walked he went on and on telling us caring for this individual was no ride in the park and it entitled lots of sacrifices. The patient he told us , did not have control of this bodily functions, had to be hand fed, shocked easily and cried out constantly... he was bold and wrinkle, could not walk or even seat down and had to be carried everywhere he had to go. We all were disgusted and a little scared by the images that were creeping into our minds. As we walked into a room and the professor said " Oh and I Forgot to mention, he is two months old. We all smiled and sighed... relieved. Should we had been? I have never forgotten the lesson I learned that day and even if afterwards I found out the way he approached the teaching was by no means original to himself... I was and will always be grateful to him because everytime I have had to deal with the elderly since I have had more compassion and understanding . Still its not easy and the work you and your husband do with them is admirable :-) See? I had nothing to write about either loll Be well my friend xoxoxo

Lovely to read you anytime Justi. George is a good man, I hope he has mended your window shutter. Sometimes It pays to relax and let others do the chores. You have done more than your share over the years. Thank you for writing.
