HELLO

I popped in a few times to read and I missed you too much to completely stay away. I just read Wiley and He was sounding like me. You don't feel like being here but you don't want to not be here. Oh well, here I am. Little to say but I am saying it anyway. There are far fewer here now than when I came her but we have such a good crowd, not argumentative, arrogant or mean to one another. I really like this crowd of people. I don't get around to reading everybody and some people I have read many... Sign in to see full entry.

SEE YOU IN A FEW DAYS

I am out on a fybromyalgia take over. Guess I worked too hard in the room with little ventilation or something. Next time it comes I will give it another excuse that is my fault. Truth is the horrible stuff just shows up when it chooses. It leaves you tired, in pain and useless. I will get back to you when I feel like writing. I may read a bit. Love you all could use your prayers and good thoughts. Sign in to see full entry.

REFRESHING THE HIDDEN ROOMS

You all know that in America a house that is a hundred years old is old. All along our street from our block north is lined with houses one hundred-plus years old and many have been restored. Some turned into businesses and then cannot be returned into residences again. Special zoning says this area is zoned for business after the present residence is vacated. If we move it then must become a business location. If it burned, God forbid, we could not build back in the same location as a... Sign in to see full entry.

MEANWHILE BACK AT THE NURSING HOME...

I have heard from visitors, former workers and others that there are some who really get riled up in the nursing homes but we have never experienced anything but joy from them. A few have acted out a bit but not angrily. Today was different in one of the areas. There were a dozen or so in a rather small meeting room and we heard someone yelling coming down the hall. "Get that stuff out of here. I don't want it in my house." It was a patient yelling. This is in the Alzhiemer's Unit. You learn to... Sign in to see full entry.

TOO COOL AGAIN

Yesterday I was outback checking on roses George moved. It was not a pretty day but being outside even on a cloudy day is better than being inside all day. I heard the ducks flying back. They fly directly across my house from one lake site to another. They were on a highly residential side where there is lots of fishing and picnicking and they then fly back across to the park on the back side of my house. They fly high but you can always hear their talking to one another as they make their... Sign in to see full entry.

MAYBE IT IS BEST NOT TO TURN ON THE TV

I just turned on the TV and learned of the massive land slide that has left more than 100 people unaccounted for in Washington State, with 8 known dead. A mountain slid down and wiped out a whole town. With the airline mystery and more than 100 Chinese passengers unaccounted for and their families getting little to no information, reassurance or even an I am sorry from those in the planes country of origin. What next? The plane must be in Iran. Who is going there to look? Too much is happening... Sign in to see full entry.

Hello again

Oh I just went in and saw my Buddy on the Pet Page and he is as handsome as TAPS could make him. By the time I sent the e mail asking if he had arrived she had put him on the sight. I love these sights TAPS has done. They are so fun. If you have not put your photo or pet's photo up for publication please do so. I shall be on again soon, hopefully with something to say. At this time about all I know is "Oh not not that too". An old house, very old for these parts, has as many quasi medical... Sign in to see full entry.

THE SUNSHINE IS A BEAUTIFUL THING TODAY

Oh how beautiful the sunshine is when it has been away for days, became cold after we already have flowers blooming. So today it decides to bring it's beautiful smile on us once again. I want to work in the garden in flowers, herbs and vegetables. Looking at the beds from last year covered in leaves and debris knowing fragile little new plants are hidden under that makes me think of birthday parties when my children were little. There were times when all the tossed wrapping became so great that... Sign in to see full entry.

THERE ARE SO MANY THINGS ABOUT AGING THAT I LOVE

Why would I love that? You are not expected to know anything. A friend sent me a card that said "We must not think of ourselves as aging but as 'flower children' gone to seed. I love it. Of course we don't get some of the considerations my parents received as in younger people stepping aside and allowing you first in line, a better seat on the bus etc., We don't even have buses here. I particularly love it when I get those stupid telephone calls that have not been put on my automatic cut off. I... Sign in to see full entry.

IS IT OKAY TO BE WORTHLESS SOME DAYS?

Yesterday and today I was just lazy and I played. George was off both the days and he simply spoiled me so much. Out to lunch on to lattes and on and on simply being a sweet husband. Yesterday was my birthday. 78 years I have reached and I am so happy to do so. The choices in being older is far greater than the alternative, possibly. I certainly cannot say this earth is a better place than Heaven, but I am familiar here and I do not want to leave George to his own opting without me. He just went... Sign in to see full entry.

WHY LAUGH AT ME WHEN WE CAN LAUGH AT PHYLLIS DILLER

Whatever you may look like, marry a man your own age. As your beauty fades, so will his eyesight. -Phyllis Diller Housework can't kill you, but why take a chance? -Phyllis Diller Cleaning your house while your kids are still growing up is like shoveling the path before it stops snowing. -Phyllis Diller The reason women don't play football is because 11 of them would never wear the same outfit in public. -Phyllis Diller Best way to get rid of kitchen odours: Eat out. -Phyllis Diller A bachelor is... WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Our little town is in a Bass-Masters fishing thing y now and fishermen from everywhere are here trying for the trophies. The whole town has welcome signs out all over WELCOME BASS-MASTERS. One of the buildings of our church has a lot of programs and church services. On Thursdays we have a service where someone buses the 'Neighbors' is what we call the homeless here to join in the services. At that time there is a service for those addicted to anything and it is called Celebrate Recovery. There... Sign in to see full entry.

HERE IT IS FROM DOWN HERE

Time flies even when you are not having fun. Oh I am not having a bad time just rather bored and that is a state I greatly dislike. I really am not coming on here to moan and groan, actually I am doing well, just have a problem with vision etc., it will get corrected, is being corrected. I do so miss all of you. I am going to have to get out when it gets warm enough for long enough and get into some mischief in order to have something to write about. We are still doing our ministry for the dear... HELLO ALL

I will be back again, just hibernating down here. Oh my Buddy cat has been really entertaining while we were snowed in for what seemed forever. I do hope all of you are doing well. I sneak in and read without comment mostly. I grew sweet potatoes, there were a good many of them that were small with a long little root on the end. I put them in the basket with the big ones. Buddy discovered them a few weeks ago and has been a trip. He pulls them out of the basket by their tails (roots) and tosses... Sign in to see full entry.

THERE ARE SOME WHO DO NOT BELIEVE IN NEW TRICKS - REGARDLESS

I guess you have seen pictures of Atlanta. A city as large as Atlanta who had no salt ready, after all, they ran into this some four years ago. We just do not do well with snow in the South. There are thousands and thousands of cars piled out on the free way without anywhere to go. First Atlanta has no straight streets. Second it is truly a hilly place. It seems there is a hill with only the length of a car until another little one rises up. The freeways are full and crazy all the time. I am so... Sign in to see full entry.

WE HAVE THIS INCREDIBLY COLD WHIT COATING ON ALL THINGS

O ooh this stuff is dreadful but pretty. It has snowed below the Mason/Dixon line and the children and child like adults are celebrating as never before. I am staying inside and wrapping yet another layer again and again. It is so pristine but for a few things sticking up frozen and dead. For a Southern born body it is like moving in a staggered movement just to get around. Man it is cold. One beautiful Cardinal sat in a tree with a background of whit as majestic as a little king. We will put... Sign in to see full entry.

THIS IS NOT ABOUT WHO IS BAD OR GOOD, BUT WHO SEEKS GOD ON LINE

What Are America’s Most Bible-Minded Cities? What’s the most “Bible-minded” city in the United States? Though it ranks 87th in population size, Chattanooga, TN, ranks number one in “Bible-mindedness” among US cities, according to a recent survey by the American Bible Society (ABS) and Barna Group. Chattanooga takes over the number-one ranking from Knoxville, TN, which claimed the top spot in 2012. (For the purposes of the study, “Bible-mindedness” was calculated based on combined levels of... I WILL BE BACK SOON UNTIL THEN...

WHEN YOU THOUGHT I WASN'T LOOKING A message every adult should read because children are watching you and doing as you do, not as you say. When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you hang my first painting on the refrigerator, and I immediately wanted to paint another one. When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you feed the birds in winter, and I learned that it was good to be kind to animals. When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you make my favorite cake for me, and I learned that the... Sign in to see full entry.

HOW DO YOU DO IT?

We have had the coldest weather maybe on record I am not sure about that but I don't remember it being so cold. You poor people up North and really up North. I lost a whole season of my Winter Garden, Broccoli, greens and two kinds of cabbage, Lemon Grass everything looks so putrid and sad. We are thawing out and it only lasted a few short days but I don't know how you deal with it for a whole season. Thankfully we did not even have any snow. We have had snow before. When that happens we can't... Sign in to see full entry.
