photos up!

Putting photos up has gotten a little more complicated than it used to be as this new laptop has no slot for a memory card, and I have not yet shelled out the $40 to get an adapter. So to process photos, I fire up the old laptop and proceed as I ever did there, then load them up to Flickr, then come back over here and rouse Flickr on this laptop to get the link I can post here: https://flic.kr/p/2oG1K4e Click left to enjoy the recent Colorado skies, and a little treat at the end. Isolating and crocheting days

Sun is shining at the moment, and again today there is a high likelihood of thunder storms. So they say. In fact I did hear some thunder yesterday afternoon, but there has been much disappointment in that prediction all this week. Today I caught up on reading your posts here, but writing has not been coming easily this week. Sunday cycling

Well, the morning is chilly and grey, and rain is forecast with thunderstorms from 10 am through all the rest of the day. This is the weather throughout the region, not just here in the Springs. Charlie's Jugger League Day in Denver has been cancelled. I just woke from a very pleasant dream of bicycling around the streets of Olympia, WA where I lived over 30 years before moving out here to Colorado. Cleaning up and metaphors

It has been a lovely late spring day with breezes in the treeses and some nice arrivals on the front porch: two new yarns, and a lovely ginkgo patterned blanket that was sent to me as Mom's Day tribute. It's already on my bed, and one of the yarn skeins is already a ball. It's two balls, actually. As I was rolling it, exercising the required patience to deal with its tangling well before finishing, metaphors came into my head for the process. Busy week!

Here it is, first evening of June, and the rain is coming down betwixt lightnings and thundrins! I'm good with it--got home before it got here though we could see it coming all the way from the workshop. There were mammatus clouds which are usually present underneath a storm cloud, and in the mountains we could see the grey wall of rain! So much has been accomplished in the workshop this week! Sunday, I guess...

I heard recently that a senior calendar only has days of the week. I know it's Sunday because Charlie was up early to go to his jugger practice. After he got home and showered, we made a trip out for lunch and groceries. So that has been my day so far, now that the sun is headed down the sky towards evening. Caliban Jack has come up with a new interesting thing: he, like other reptiles, is shedding his skin. It comes away in patches, not a whole sheath of old skin like a snake. I've heard that... Day by day, better and better!

The past couple of days, maybe a total of 7 or 8 hours, have seen some great progress in getting the Fire Thieves Studio Workshop & Costuming Annex ready for a Grand Opening event, probably an evening gathering with refreshments and games (Auto Billiards for sure). I still have quite a lot to do with the costume collection, but the workshop itself is shaping up well. I only just realized tonight that this is a four-day weekend, what with Memorial Day and all... Slow Tuesday

Midday, and the Weather Underground has pulled thunderstorms from their forecast for the area. Disappointing: We were looking forward to some losing some of this smoke from the air. It is no better than yesterday, with the mountains obscured and the sunlight kind of orangey. I watched a movie the other evening: A MAN CALLED OTTO. It's Tom Hanks playing a curmudgeon faced with the terrible reality of friendly neighbors. I recommend it! I think we're going down to the workshop this afternoon.... Sign in to see full entry.

Reality and Fantasy

We've had no mountains today, and well-filtered sunlight. It's the smoke from wildfires in Canada drifting down over Colorado. People with breathing difficulties are feeling it. The weather mavens tell us that it's a low-hanging smoke, worsening in the evening. It has been warm and dry all day, and I can tell you, we're looking forward to the thunderstorms predicted for tomorrow, that will wash some of this ash out of the air.
