Re: Good Morning

After a lapse of many years I’m now knitting for my little grandchildren 🥰

You’ve reminded me of helping my mother wind skeins into ballsfor knitting - I had to hold the skein with my arms wide apart while she wound it into a ball. Then someone showed her how to use the back of a dining chair to take the skein - much easier!

Good Morning

I think working with yarn is truly a gift for some people.  To be able to make something beautiful out of yarn is priceless.

Re: Pat B,

I sometimes make little round pockets and stuff them with plastic grocery bags before closing them up. They make great pet toys! Cooper, my daughter's little Lancashire healer, loved them! They last longer that the kind you're describing, and there is no choking hazard--unless they do destroy them enough to get out the plastic bag!

I suppose I could make potato nets, but not a lot of demand for those. One thing you have top quality with Marino wool. I have some blankets very warm.

Your yarn post reminded me that I've been looking for some good use

for tiny leftover yarn balls after a project is finished. I started making a scarf with all these little random leftovers, and it's turning into an artsy patch of thread. The other use for these little balls of yarn, maybe an inch in diameter, is to tie them up crosswise, upside down and backwards, and offer them as pet toys. Kinda worried they might get some of the yarn untangled and choke on it, though.

Cooler here today so both garden and Kabu are comfortable.I love your idea of knitting those warm hats. They will be much appreciated come winter and make easy to send gift parcels.
