Harsh realities
The maple looks sad, all its leaves that were so bold and bright a week ago, now limp and dark. We have had several nights of freezing temperatures, and days not much warmer, though the trend is upwards. I wonder if they'll recover or start new leaves for the summer. Since yesterday, one of the parent doves has been back on the nest, calling out pretty loudly his coocoo-coo! while the other has been sitting on the railing, and one youngster beside her.
