Welcome to the Reptile House

If you are creeped out by snakes, you might not like these images so much. But I am fascinated by the beauty of their patterns and colors, and the cool, sleek feel of them. At least, the ones that don't bite. And then there's the skink. The Blue-tongued skink. This one, a female, has the loveliest scales arranged in beautiful, flexible patterns. Her color is lustrous like pearls. The African fat-tailed gecko is just the opposite: it's skin is dark, velvety and nubbley-looking. Chinese... Sign in to see full entry.

Kritter Karavan

I went yesterday to the home of one of the knittin' women. She is the one who brought the hedgehog to the group, of which there have been pictures, now a little ways down my photostream on Flickr. She has other animals at home, and let me come and take a few pictures. How many animals does she have in her home? I hear someone ask... Well, counting the insects as colonies, rather than individuals, she has 75 reptiles, mammals, spiders and insects, and amphibians. I am not sure she included the... Sign in to see full entry.
