The air is silver...
With all the leaves blown away, and the skies going cloudy, the sunlight is thin and colorless today. The house is bright with it, but though the temperatures are mild, it looks cool. It's dull, the dead back yard and bare trees, but the day will come not so long from now when the air will be deeper grey during the day, while snow falls, and the world will seem muffled both in sound and sight.
