SPRING HAS SPRUNG at least for today!

The window is open, the cat is sitting in the sunshine sleeping and I am about to inspect the ravages of winter on my once garden. Oh did I mention it is near 80 degrees? I always look forward to spring any occasion I have. I don't like winter even if a snow covered area is beautiful; it is not my cup of tea. I love growing flowers, herbs and vegetables so today looks like I could do so soon. That, I have learned over a span of 74 winters, is just a tease. Spring is not coming soon enough to be... WHAT DO YOU WANT? IT IS IN YOUR HANDS.

There are times when I begin to write and I know there are more questions than there are answers. This is one of those times. I think of my title to this blog: A DAY OR SO IN MY LIFE! WHO CARES? Well taking that title collectively for the United States, I wonder if it does not apply to all. People all over the world are applauding the progress to Democracy in Egypt... There will be no democracy, as we know it, in any Middle Eastern Country. Today in New York city it was first a stepfather, then... Sign in to see full entry.

WHAT IN THE WORLD IS THAT?

Without the overhead lights on the bedroom is dim, just soft lighting from a couple of lamps. I came into the bedroom to put away some clothes and there it was a black fuzzy thing on the floor. I carefully placed the clothes on the bed and took a second look. As I stepped back the thing appeared to scamper to the right. I am becoming concerned now it is so strange looking. You see down South we have black widows and brown recluse spiders that are some more bad. I am not afraid of spiders I just... Sign in to see full entry.

NO DINNER TONIGHT MY CHICKEN WENT ACROSS THE ROAD

WHY DID MY CHICKEN CROSS THE ROAD? SARAH PALIN: The chicken crossed the road because, gosh-darn it, he's a maverick! BARACK OBAMA: The chicken crossed the road because it was time for change! The chicken wanted change! JOHN MC CAIN: My friends, that chicken crossed the road because he recognized the need to engage in cooperation and dialogue with all the chickens on the other side of the road. HILLARY CLINTON: When I was First Lady, I personally helped that little chicken to cross the road. This... Sign in to see full entry.

LOVABLE TRUTH SEEN THROUGH A CHILD'S EYES A BIT FUN TOO!

Judas Asparagus A child was asked to write a book report on the entire Bible. I wonder how often we take for granted that children understand what we are teaching??? Through the eyes of a child: The Children's Bible in a Nutshell In the beginning, which occurred near the start, there was nothing but God, darkness, and some gas. The Bible says, 'The Lord thy God is one, but I think He must be a lot older than that. Anyway, God said, 'Give me a light!' and someone did. Then God made the world. He... WHO GETS THE BONUS

Do you get lost in the wonderful posts of those who like Taps tippy toes through the tulips until she finds the bunny and ties up this wonderful post ready for a ribbon. Always a delightful trip never boring. Or maybe it is Kabu who tells us exciting stories of a far away land totally unlike any other. She tells stories of people who have the most exciting episodes of life some fun and exciting and some on the brink of whaaat? Her gnomes and animals are so engaging I wait for her posts and I am... ARE YOUR DREAMS DEMENTED

I have always been an avid dreamer, I remembered them. Since I had my little episode with heat exposure I do not dream the same way at all. Okay that is not a big deal is it. It is to me. I got a lot of information I needed in life through dreams. My product development whether it be natural skin care and bath products, foods or even garment designs. Not any more. I asked George this morning if his dreams had dementia and that I thought mine may have. He looked at me and clearly with a straight... Sign in to see full entry.

GOOD WEEK ENDS ARE NOT A GIVEN

I had such a busy but good week-end. I baked four cakes on Friday for a friend and the good part of it is I never had a single bite of them. But I was tired and lazy afterward. But they were all new ones and that was the greatest fun. Saturday I did little more than those things necessary. I made up for that on Sunday. My George is a rebel rouser on Sundays. He would not consider that an appropriate title but he is gone from 6 a.m. to noon and after lunch a nap and back out again, I followed him... Sign in to see full entry.

DO YOU KNOW A LOT OF PEOPLE LIKE ME

I am not doing enough interesting things to even come up with a blog to write. Things have been rather dull since Christmas. Nobody is ordering cheese and jelly, they have fed all their guests and gave all they were planning to give away. I have been reading, what a novelty. I haven't had time in so long. For the winter I am doing products to winterize our bodies. So that will take time and it may bring about enough consumer conversation to be writable. There is a deep drought of communication... AGING IS A REVOLUTION

Whatever the age if it is a lower number than I have I know something about it. Especially after I passed 65 each new number has all sorts of surprises in it. Those who went before me left no clues; only because I turned a blind eye and a deaf ear. I was never going to do that or be that way, not in a million years. Every new day is like being in a foreign land not knowing the language and some days having no clue why you are there. Oh and the way they dress here. People are showing body parts I... SOUP'S ON KIDS - COME GET IT

George and I are about to have a winter dinner. I made a huge pot of soup. Chicken leaks, lots of butter and homemade chicken stock, yumm. Yes, I'm a fat cat now. You can write the tune to it. The sun better come out to visit us or I will eat my way into total oblivion. All I want to do is stay in my cozy kitchen cooking. I just made pies, soups and all the good things to pamper ourselves for not having nice warm days. Now how is that for maturity, sanity and self control? I am trying to stay... WE ARE DIGGING OUT AND ON TO BETTER THINGS

Please forgive our whinning. We just are not made of the harty stuff you guys up north are. George was born in Miami, he grew up there. He gets cold Labor Day regardless of the temperature. The birds are working hard today to find morsels that have been covered for days. George is out and about to heal his cabin fever. Even the cat had been a bit strange. I went into the bathroom this morning and heard this forlorn little cry coming from the heat vent I thought and checked it out wondering how... Sign in to see full entry.

A SOUTHERN SNOW SHOW

How much more Southern could you get? A Magnolia green and standing tall to shade the graves of those former citizens of small towns is now covered in snow, still crisp and green... This is what I mean about not getting out of town. You go half a block from my house turn left and your are about 100 yards from going on to the causeway that crosses the lake and leads to mountain roads. Even to get to these houses that are along the lake here there are steep streets along the bottom of the first... Sign in to see full entry.

IT IS SNOWING IN THE SOUTH

Where I live a white dusting on the ground is a happening. We are on our way to a Snow Down! Everything is covered. I am sure our town just bought all the bread, peanut butter, and charcoal available last night. We don't have generators it only snows like this once in a decade or actually the last one was March 1993. I may not be able to write for a while I hope I am but we usually have broken power lines and power outage when we have any snow to amount to anything. It is difficult but really... THANKS FOR THE CONFERENCE

I want to thank all of you for your kind and wise advice. I had done a double self duping. I was a weakling and then allowed guilt to come in where the door should never have been opened. Last night I sat down and wrote the menu, shopping list, directions for preparation and presentation. Then I went to bed and went to sleep. That was after I read the first two comments. When I read the others this morning I made my call. First I prayed and forgave the ladies for attempting to take me in an... Sign in to see full entry.

WHEN IS ENOUGH, ENOUGH?

Hi everybody. It appears all of you had a Merry Christmas and are having a good New Year! That is such good news. I wore out the flue and my daughter decided to try it I guess. She was very sick. I brought my little grandson home with me and that was a delight as much of it as I could be aware of. Most of the five days were a blur. I was never that fast, involved in so many things at once or that cute. I loved it so much. I guess I have to take my dad's word for it. He always said "The reason... Sign in to see full entry.

SORRY I HAVE NOT READ OR WRITTEN SINCE CHRISTMAS EVE

We worked our addiction areas on Christmas and it snowed incredibly. That is not too significant to many of you, but at my age I don't remember our ever having a white Christmas before. We had Christmas 'Dinner' Lunch whatever with another family who do the same as we do and before that was over I began to feel weak and warm. I came home and have snuggled in the bed under the electric blanket, stuffing Vitamin C and my new beauty treatment is Vick's Vapor Rub. That is why I haven't read you and... WHERE HAVE ALL THE ELVES GONE?

I believe some of you are old enough to associate with this. When my children were small everybody wanted to help make candy, cookies, and all the goings on of Christmas. I was young and had great high levels of energy and soon I would take out a batch of cookies give them a hand full and ask them to go play now they had worked well. How fun that was.... This week I would have loved having children of any age above 8 or 10 helping make cheeses but since I haven't any of my own and all the... Sign in to see full entry.
