Our country is beginning to look a lot like a horrific battle ground. The carnage is still raging. A city of some 45,000 is left with 122 dead and 1,500 still missing. This one is way down the line of those already hit or flooded. Roof tops are barely visible along the Great Mississippi as she rages to the sea. Crops in three states devastated because of this. Another bad, bad tornado. The already numbered dead is in the high 80s and expect to be 100 before all are located. It was very wide and stayed on the ground for a very long time. The worst in that area in a century. Some people are saying "Oh well it has always been and will always be". Not true. Yes in my little section of the world it was a beautiful day. The temperature is ideal, it is clear and bright. I went for my checkup with my doctor and was declared in excellent condition for the condition I am in at this juncture in life. My hairdresser is a lovely young woman whom I love seeing for more than just getting a styling. A few days ago I went to my mail box and found a brown envelope with my name on it and hurriedly ripped up the closure, there had to be an exciting surprise on the inside because of the sender’s address. I am so blessed I almost feel guilty about it. Many of you are blessed too. For so many weeks we watched the forest fires, drought drying all the surfaces into a torch for wild fires all through Texas, Japan was sandwiched in between Texas disasters and those of the desperate carnage through the Southeast leaving death, pain and poverty for many who had no insurance and now has no home. Is my face red! Yes I told my daughter how my friends enlightened me and set me straight about the photo on her Face Book and she laughed and showed me what she had written and I felt like crawling into a hole. “It is okay they didn’t even have T.V. when you were little, just go with the flow.” She instructed me. Until a certain age almost everyone thinks the basis of their problems is this one. When we become one of them we come to understand that was not the way at all, with few exceptions. Yesl there are exceptions but mostly they are doing the best they can and some are very young, have no experience and anything is more than they know. Ofcourse you know I am talking about mothers. We are so blessed, I am almost guilt ridden. The barren cluttered areas have owners who once lived in houses and had closets where clothes hung and cupboards where dishes waited for their food and lovely scrapbooks of photos of the children and/or grandchildren. Those serene scenes are littered now with broken boxes, walls, roofs and broken pottery covered here and there with a curtain or bed sheet. This is somewhat like emotional carnage. I don’t know what to think about today. Osama is dead. Is that a victory or the trigger for more to come. I don’t know. All I know is that it is a bitter sweet victory to all those who lost love ones in all the many feats he engineered. I believe it is time for all to come together, unify, pray for our military all over the world. Pray for Jews everywhere. Pray for one another and be cheerful about life. It is an eerie feeling when the sun rises and you not only have no power for coffee but trees are down everywhere, roofs are blown off and the whole world appears upside down. Of course you didn’t plug in your phone last night so after calls to all those you know who see the same, phones are dying and now you have no access to the outside. This week end is a Holy Memorial to the most famous Jew ever to have lived or died; including Abraham, Isaac or Jacob. This man-God died of his own will and that of his father. He was killed by Roman Soldiers as the request of his own people who did not understand. I want to wish all of you a magnificent Easter Celebration. It is the most Holy Day in the Christian Faith. A few weeks ago I read of the preacher who burned the Quran and I was disappointed that any person confessing to being a Christian would do such. I understand the man’s thinking but not his behavior. This is a story all on its own. I would not speak to the man nor would I prosecute him. I personally adhere only to Judeo Christianity and I am sure of the one living God who is Triune: God the father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. One day I hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed on his brakes, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches! The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at us.
