WHEN A STRONG WOMAN LOSES IT Yes, this memory is rather piece meal but it is real. I could say, as in the title, a strong woman loses it over a child who never had it. I was too young to understand or help with the washday chores. Rather than a lot of hard work, I only saw it as a lot of boredom. There were lots of restrictions and little pleasure. SORRY I HAVE BEEN AWAY FOR AWHILE AGAIN
We have had so much going on that I am hard put to know what day it is. I have been really busy with working for the church and that stopped with a thud. I got some sort of infection in one of my eyes. It was extremely painful. I was not sure if it was contagious so I did not go back to work. I got that taken care of and by Sunday it was a lot better. BELIEVE IT. IT IS TRUE.
I am working. I am working Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings. I am being a receptionist/information gatherer for the new program our church has. It is awesome. We have a lot of charity groups in our small town and county. Our county is large and has four small towns that work well together. Our town is the county seat and has a lot of the people down on their luck in all sorts of ways come through here. TODAY MY HEART IS BREAKING
It seems there are some people who cannot get above the Frey and life just keeps throwing junk at them by the truck loads. A young woman in my town teaches at a day care that is over the top. WE LOVE YOU KABU AND WILEY IN THIS CASE BECAUSE HE LOVES YOU!
This post is for our friend Kabu. I have seen the pain in children, parents and grandparents enough to do a lifetime. I read where Kabu's daughter-in-law listed pages of sins of hers. BEYOND THE PALE
This weekend was the best. It is not possible for me to tell you how wonderful it was without a lot about Jesus. I will try to keep this in the journal focus. I worked the drug rehab this weekend and the women who came to give their testimonies are those who have accepted Jesus and have been off drugs and or alcohol for some time, usually at least one year. WEEK ENDS ARE?
As I have gotten older it seems I have fewer definitions about what the use of this or that day is. It is a blessing to be able to choose my work or play on any day. It is so different than needing to be in the work force for five or six days and church the other. Now I may be in or about the business of church work on several different days. WELL I AM NO SMARTER THAN BEFORE I WENT
I am back. Today I had a battery of Labs. I also had them two weeks ago and then they found nothing but low (very low) Potassium. Today she checked everything and did the labs wanting to check the labs again before she says anything. There was not one thing to point toward. No more weight loss, well not another pound today. SATURDAY WAS THE BEST DAY OF THE WEEK
I remember having long blond curls; sometimes it was a job keeping them away from my face. That last Saturday truck trading was one of those days. Today was the first in a long time that George and I had done the double ministry at one of the nursing homes here. This is not a place you can stay out a few years and expect to find the same ones when you return. There was only one there we had known before and we came away so blessed. IT IS COLD ENOUGH IN A SOUTHERN NOVEMBER TO KILL A HOG
We have two big black wash pots going today. Everything is abuzz and aboil: smoke is rising out of the smoke house and clean salt is being poured into the big wood boxes and the corn shucks are boiling in the kitchen. Sausage seasoning is being mixed in a dish pan and brown sugar and pepper being made ready to mix in the salt bins for bacon. I’ve just been sent to my room and I know what time it is.
