HOW BLESSED CAN ONE BE

We have been really busy this week. But I want to share this day with all of you. This day began a long time ago, about five years back. I was doing a women's jail ministry and one of the young women showed real signs of wanting to get paid off, live right and begin a new life. All of them are not that way but many never come clean. This one had been a drug addict and an alcoholic and had more fines facing her than pieces to create a world size quilt. She was facing one charge for this stint in... Sign in to see full entry.

I'M BOXED IN-IN ALABAMA

Do you ever box yourself in by doing a special holiday message, it passes, and now you need to write again and have absolutely nothing to write about. Oh I do have things to write about but I can't see them being of interest to anyone. For example we have a group down here who do military funerals for the Confederate Soldiers who died in massive numbers and were just dumped in graves. Many do have markers but never had a military service and now their families would like to recognize them. My... Sign in to see full entry.

BORING YOU AGAIN

Today was simply another day, as so many of the past some 27,740 days in my life. I ate, did laundry and other little housey things, watered plants, walked, cooked food and ate it, computer piddled and now it is time I should go to bed or watch the news shows we have selected and recorded to watch when we choose. I would write more if I did more that was at least exciting. My grandchildren are very exciting to me but they are not nearly as exciting to your as yours are for those of you who have... THIS IS FOR NAUTIKOS AND HIS FINE LIVER SPOTTED POINTER, BEN

Fall is just a prelude to winter now that I shift the season's importance. Time was when Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas were not the celebrations I geared up for; no sir, Mama did that. I looked forward to the day bird season opened. Curt that was my daddy he was something else. Most daddies I knew didn't take their daughters bird hunting; Curt did. Not calendars, weather changes, football games, nothing heralded the coming of fall like Daddy pulling the old 20 gauge double-barrel Ithaca... Sign in to see full entry.

LIFE IS BETTER WITH LOVE

Life is better with love is a statement almost anyone would agree with. I have this on my religious blog, but hardly anyone reads my religion blogs so I wanted to share it with the rest of you as well! I am working on this, don't have it down pat by any means but I know it works. Love and blessings to all of you! Sign in to see full entry.

SOME DAYS ARE JUST TOO MUCH BLESSING

Yesterday was the first time in over fifty eight years since I graduated high school that I had gone to a high school reunion. This was, yes the 58 year reunion. I had always thought this would be a bit of a bummer, I had not seen these people after high school so why do this? What changed after all this time? A few months ago someone wrote on my face book asking if I were the person I am? I answered yes. As it turned out this was the very first friend I had on the first day of school and we... TO OR NOT TO BE A BUSINESS OWNER, IS A RARELY ASKED QUESTION

Thank you so much for those gracious comments. Thank you for thinking that I was gearing up to go into business again. No, no! I am still working on all the businesses and projects history for my daughter who wants a list and description. That request sent me to putting them into the book which begins with the little girl stories. I want to address a few of your comments: First I want to speak to TAPS idea that she had a hard time just getting in touch with all the things I had done because she... Sign in to see full entry.

MOVING ALONG THE CAREER OR LIVING MAKING ROAD

Here I go again on the initial steps of a new career that lasted 13 years and George became a big part of it. First was perfume and cosmetics development (Natural). Later an endeavor I am still very proud of Scentuous Natural Bath Products. There were six lines and 104 individual products all of my own development and design products. The photos are some of the various lines in some of our market showrooms in various places. I have been a blessed woman. I married George and we worked this... Sign in to see full entry.

Nature's Aging Lady

These are my favorite flowers... Magnolias. In her pristine beauty she is a full flowered woman with a scent of confidence, assurance, beauty, sensuality, and the assurance that the right others will be attracted to her without the loudness of a beautiful gardenia with full blown high notes of scent. As she passes into her elderly years she is beautifully and strongly turned into a subtle color to allow her to back away gracefully from the spotlight. She has spent her youth, used her middel... A VERY GOOD DAY BUT I CRIED

Today I received a note that was the closest thing I have had in my life to the hand of God touching my heart. You know about our ministry to the nursing home. I have been ill for three weeks. I can be up much of the time but a lot of the time I have been in the bed trying to get rid of a terrible chest cold that has knocked me flat on my butt. I have not gone to the nursing home for two weeks, I was afraid of spreading germs; they are all so susceptible to new germs I would think. Whatever, I... Sign in to see full entry.

ON BACK THERE

" wid th="126" height="192" />" width="120" height="196" /> I am still going back due to the book I am creating for my daughter. This goes without saying that this goes way back. The models at the top go all the way back to the 70's with some fashion that was cutting edge at the time. The photo at top left is a khaki cotton jacket and slacks with a satin camisole with lace applique. This woman was a long time model of mine, very good particularly in sale shows. She is shown on the right with a... Sign in to see full entry.

AN APOLOGY FOR LUSTORLOVE

It appears I have offended LustorLove. I do apologize to you, Lustorlove. I find children, disabled and elderly those people we should see to their getting their just dues. Governments have made it imperative that all businesses make it easy for the disabled to access buildings. Yes they sometimes slow others down or get totally in the way. So what? I am able to walk around or even to wait and be thankful that but for the Grace of God there go I. Old people's money had a major part in keeping... Sign in to see full entry.

LOOKING BACK A BIT

" width="303" height="172" /> This takes looking back a way. Between lines of clothing I took a break after a real beating one season and opened this little restaurant which was a delight and a success. It would be old hat now but at the time some thirty five years ago it was all the rage. It was a very unique little place. I have little seating venues, backgammon boards and other things to pass the time if people were waiting for take out or on a table. We did special services like full dinners... Just look what that Gardener Extraordinaire is doing to us...

" width="421" height="244" /> There are no Gnomes but I drug out the old drop cloth, cheap chairs and all the pieces of paint cans and began working fast and furious. Who knows an Aussie Gnome on it's way to North Camelot might stop at my place Down South to rest a bit and I wanted to spruce up the old work house patio a bit. I can't tell for sure but she has put the fear of Gnomes into us or what but I don't want to buy any pretties, but I want to touch up a bit in case Wiley and Kabu trip down... THANK GOD FOR SMALL TOWNS

Los Angeles might seem to be the nation's capital for gridlock, but according to Inrix, a provider of traffic data and information, the City Of Angels doesn't have the worst traffic in the United States. Inrix says that the city of Honolulu wins that dubious honor, with drivers wasting 58 hours a year on average on congested roads. The Inrix study shows that drivers in other major cities are still spending a fair number of hours stuck in traffic, too. While Los Angeles ranked a close second to... Sign in to see full entry.
