And a bird--after last year, I suspect a Northern Flicker--is pounding on a nearby chimney, while another thumps away on a nice resounding tree a few hundred feet away. Everything is saturated, which is good for the rain forest, where summer will likely be dry and even sometimes hot. Temps now are in the 50s F and moving on towards 60.
