Elder Cat Embers, since I adopted her 5 years ago, has had mouth troubles. It's called stomatitis, and is, more or less, an autoimmune disease that manifests as being, essentially, allergic to her teeth. So we had the teeth, mostly--except for, ironically, her canines--surgically removed. And she takes steroids daily, to suppress the condition.
