Pat B mentioned Orange Marmelade scones

or biscuits, in the US--I made up a batch this afternoon. With bisquick (using the term generically, but I use the low-fat Bisquick) it's as easy as putting the dry mix in the bowl, adding the flavor stuff, and liquid, and stirring it up. Measuring... Nah... just add liquid until it is the right consistancy for dough. I do drop biscuits rather than rolled and cut ones. Quicker, simpler, just as tasty. So... Still chilly, still grey...

But all of you, my friends of Blogit, have left so many bright candles glowing in my little cubby here, that I am very much cheered up. Thank you, all, very much indeed! I made savory biscuits last night, with breakfast sausage, apples, sharp cheddar, and chives, and both the making and eating was also cheering. There was a time in their early teen years when my girls, for some reason, found everything "cute as a biscuit." I think I will have some cute biscuits for breakfast, and take some up to...
