Hail (to the) Victor!

My faith has been rewarded immensely! It took about 7 hours and a lot of diligent work but Victor got my sprinklers fixed. He checked the lines and there was plenty of water coming through them. The filters were clean. He replaced the diaphragm and a valve. He dug up 3 sprinklers to check for a clog... Sign in to see full entry.

There May Be A Solution To The Irrigation Dilemma!

Initially I thought Victor had forgotten aboit our appointment. I remained calm and about 17 passed the scheduled time he called to say he was finishing a job and would get to my house in 45 minutes. When he arrived I explained everything that had been done by my son and the two previous sprinkler... Sign in to see full entry.

One More Time On The Irrigation Fiasco!

My daughter prodded me to try one more irrigation company. I said I would think about it. My son-in-law (from now I'm going to refer to him as my son, he truly is a great son) stopped by after work to take the compost out to the curb. He has put in many hours trying to get the sprinklers fixed. It... Sign in to see full entry.

Not Great News On The Irrigation! Saga Continues.

I waited until nearly 2 p.m. today for the tech from the Irrigation District to call me when he was on his way. The folks acted like they hadn't heard from me last Friday. Two phone calls later I was told my area was on pump 24 and it was working properly. End of story on their part. My daughter... Sign in to see full entry.

Back To The Usual Routine!

I've spent the last two days working on the poetry book. After I had about 20 hours into the project I had an Epiphany of a sort. My realization was instead of listing the changes it made more sense for me to do the changes and upload a new PDF to convert to the book. It would have been nice to come... HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!

Last night I was waiting for fireworks to blast in my neighborhood. Much to my surprise it was quiet. I'm not complaining! I suspect tonight it will be loud for a long time. I had my A/C unit serviced today. It's 27 years old so I was expecting problems. A part had to be changed. The final bill was... Sign in to see full entry.

A Decision Has Been Made On My Book!

I sent an email indicating I would be willing to give them one more opportunity to prepare the book for publishing. Since the department head will be doing it I told her I would use draft 5. My goal, to be fair to her because there would be so much referencing between the drafts and the original... Sign in to see full entry.

Irrigation Diagnostic Not What I Wanted To Hear.

My suspicions were confirmed. There is not enough pressure. He cited too many sprinklers and not enough pressure to support them. But I didn't say anything when he said the entire system needs to be reworked to eliminate some sprinklers. The first month of the year everything worked fine. I... Sign in to see full entry.

I Can't Catch A Break On My Sprinkler Repair!

I finally got an appointment to determine the problem with my sprinklers. It was an open appointment between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The company said they would call when on the way to my house. A Knock at my door found the weed man arrived before the sprinkler guy. I had no idea it was my day for... Sign in to see full entry.

Traffic In The Valley Is Getting So Congested!

This morning I had to make a trip to the beauty supply store. The normal time is 15 minutes. Today was insane. I always get in the lane I will eventually make my turn. I don't like crowding in between cars. I was on a five lane road that eventually turns into 6 lanes with a right turn lane. The... Sign in to see full entry.
