Attack of the chainsaws
Since I have lived here, I've enjoyed the view out back of the tall Chinese elm rooted two yards away. I've watched the squirrels race around and chase each other, seen a flock of robins hanging out, watched the tree itself whip in the windstorms we get from time to time... And today, they are cutting it down. Just last summer I took note of how the sun shone through its leaves in the morning, and how lovely it was tossing back the afternoon light.
