Snowfall and LONESOME DOVE

When I woke a little before dawn, I looked out to bare ground, and wondered where the promised snow was. Now, three hours later, the snow is about an inch deep, and coming down in fat flakes with no sign of letting up. I have heard that the big soft flakes fall in temps near freezing, that they get smaller--the powder skiers love--the colder the air. This looks in-between, ideal stuff for snowmen and snowballs.
