Today there will be hot water and a flush toilet.

The tear-down is done, the construction debris has been carted to the dump and recycling center. The new greenboard drywall is up, concrete backer board around the shower, the hard part of the tile installation - around the window frame - is done. Update on the Cantankerous old guy...

I was outside working on the newly curb-appealed front yard - getting the dirt leveled and ready to plant new grass, when I saw my neighbor out there working on the very ramp I was commenting about a couple days ago. The front steps are set in place. Freaky me, I'm scared of them. I'm so spoiled by having a handrail, and since they had to take the old one out to lay a concrete base under the step unit, and the old assembly was busted up, I'm without a handrail. My daughter's coming in a few days to help finish up the bathroom remodel. I'm a hundred percent thrilled with having her here - she's got a decorator's touch.
