Go to Life in the fast lane--where's the on ramp?

- Go to Route 66 Festival
I did Route 66 in 1954 from Carthage, MO where we got on it from HiWay 71. Did all points west and had a blast. Had a car breakdown somewhere in Texas in the middle of nowhere (cracked block) and sat in a little motel for days while it was being worked on, then took out again. I'll never forget it.

I myself do not drink, but I often hear from those who used to drink how hard it is not to drink when others are.

You know I drove that Route 66 all the way from Carpenteria CA to Las Vegas once, loved it as I did the TV show.

Living right by (luckily not on, LOL) that mystical-mythical icon of North American wanderlust, Route 66, and not going to that festival is almost sacrilegious! If you don't like the beer, you can always take along a mickey of Bushmills...

Can you have wine? Double malt...? I should think you could find enough cheer to go safely among the beer-drinkers.
I have to work a little to remember there was a time before the interstate highways were the way to get a car from coast to coast.
