IT IS ABOUT THAT TIME

We have not had a full inch of rain in months, many months. It is still hot and dry. You can tell it is fall even with summer temps, there is a feeling about. My plants have their God arranged time table and the plants are tucking in and shutting down on the bearing season. The signs of the season tells me it is about time to begin stocking fleece throws, extra cans of food, winter socks and anything those who have no warm places to live need. We have to buy in increments we can't go lay down a... Sign in to see full entry.

DOES IT MATTER IF YOU ARE HAVING FUN` CHECK OUT THESE FUN ONES

Ø Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience. Ø I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my grandfather. Not screaming and yelling like the passengers in his car. Ø Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than standing in a garage makes you a car. Ø The last thing I want to do is hurt you. But it's still on the list. Ø Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak. Ø If I agreed... Sign in to see full entry.

THE NEED FOR HELP ALL OVER THE WORLD

In Guatemala the mud slides are beyond belief, heavy smothering mud is sliding down destroying homes, automobiles and all in the path. It is killing people and many have not been accounted for; for those buried under that mud there is little hope. Indonesia a volcano has erupted for the first time in 400 years causing thousands to be evacuated. It is expected to erupt again within days. Such devastation and fear must be among the people. New Zealand has not only seen a massive earth quake but... Sign in to see full entry.

IT'S A HOLIDAY IN ALL 50 STATES - BUT!

Today is the day the working people of this country of all levels have celebrated for many years. This year is a bit different. The manufacturing companies have gone to China and other parts of the world. It is amazing to me how people can hate big business but don't understand that they are the livelyhood of the dependant families of their workers. We have millions who are looking for some sort of job. People appear not to want big business to make a profit but they want their stocks to grow.... Sign in to see full entry.

Storm on the Outter Banks purring like a kitten

All those who took precautions have exercised a lesson in good life management. All is well that ends well. Earl has run away, tired out and gone on up the road. It may hit Virginia, I doubt it, but it could and I hope they will be as concinnous as those of North Carolina. What about the storms that are roaring through our lives, our country, our prosperity, and the moral sanity of life right now? Are we doing anything positive about these storms? Are we simply accepting them as a part of the... Sign in to see full entry.

EARL APPEARS TO BE A RAMBUNCTIOUS BOY

If you have never been in a hurricane, tornado or any of these catastrophic situations you are blessed. I am a blessed. I have only been in tornados and those not of life or death situations. Natural disasters are so devastating. I am praying for all those people along the outer banks of North Carolina. I saw their governor asking them all to put together their hurricane kits for three to four days and get on up the hill. I have thought since the one that hit South Florida with such tragic... DO YOU EVER JUST GO BLANK?

I have been so busy today I felt I had no time to write but I really wanted to do both read and write. Not so quick, I drew a great big blank. I looked in the mirror and wanted a blank, I was a mess. Okay I'll take the time to pull myself together then write. More kept coming up, I have still not finished my day and will not have until late into the night. I have a showing tomorrow so I must rake hay while the sun shines. Just know that I am thinking of all of you who do read me. I will be back... Sign in to see full entry.

HIGH ON THE LIST OF BEST THINGS TO HAVE IN YOUR CARE KIT

I thought this would be more informative than anything I had to muse over tonight. Be blessed all and ponder the minds of men/women who invent. What is the main ingredient of WD-40? Who knew; I had a neighbor who bought a new pickup. I got up very early one Sunday morning and saw that someone had spray painted red all around the sides of this beige truck (for some unknown reason). I went over, woke him up, and told him he bad news. He was very upset and was trying to figure out what to do....... Sign in to see full entry.

WHAT IS THAT ALL ABOUT

I can't keep up with all my work, fun, life and just what ever. I do not believe I have to slow down just because I have lived a long time. Well I do. It took me so long to work the past few days that I simply felt like a huge snail trying to get to the top of a high hill. Do any of you ever feel like you are in slow motion when you have the throttle pulled out to maximum? Oh I am not feeling bad, sick or in a bad mood, just slow. I am one of those people who has always dashed around getting... Sign in to see full entry.

THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID

I love watching the vendors and the consumers at the Farmer's Market. There are so many types and attitudes. Some of the people who come up to your booth will act as if you owed them your products, time and good wishes for life while they grumble and gripe, not many thankfully. A vendor down the way from me is in poor health and he is a short tempered some times and other times he will just sit while they choose what they want. He tells them to put the money on the table. After they leave he... Sign in to see full entry.

MAMA'S COOKING~~~~

I am always cooking. I try all sorts of ordinary and exotic foods almost daily. We are having guest for dinner Friday night. They, like us are simple people, and they like ordinary food so this is my menu tell em what you think. I think I make killer potato salad with little red potatoes, I am doing butterfly pork chops stuffed with figs, apples, walnuts and Mexican crumbling cheese, coleslaw, green beans with almonds and garlic. We are having Mocha Gossmer cake and coffee afterward. I have been... Sign in to see full entry.

SPEAKING OUT FROM THE INSIDE

I have a difficult time delivering beautifully frosted cakes without any disasters. So I came up with the idea of sending the cakes naked and frosting canned in a jar just like the jelly. It works. Thank God we just shipped an order to Atlanta of ten jars and three bottles of our products. This was such a boost to us. George's unemployment income alone brings in little more than one/third of our basic needs of mortgage, groceries, medications, water-sewer, power, gas, telephone, auto gas and our... MERRY CHRISTMAS

There are several religious holidays about the same time of year. Each religion should be able to declare theirs for their believers and have no bashing about it. Mine is Christian and I celebrate Christmas, if you don't that is fine by me, but you better be sure I expect it to be fine by you that I can celebrate Christmas. It is time for me to get ready for Christmas. I am making gift packages out of my products and making new products for Christmas or any giving. I am working at the new recipe... DANGED IF I KNOW

I have been working all day, litterly all day and what have I accomplished? Danged if I know, I seemed to be chasing my tail. I am trying to make a little catalog with a listing of all my products and a few things about them. But I have had to untangle a thousand little quirks, those that make you crazy, danged if I know! I ordered a hand held apparatus to take debit and credit cards but it would not work, it did not come programed to take debit cards, only credit cards and my first priority is... DEPRESSION HIGHWAYS

Okay I know I am too verbal about the whiners, those who complain and don't have a clue. They are only aware of what their very own life is, was and is expected to be. They don't know about those who walked the Georgia Road, The Trail of Tears and many all over the country. I only know about the ones of my area. My ancestors broke from the original Belcher family into many families by many names and the Georgia Road meandered miles down through the farm now broken into small farms and divided... THEY ATE WHAT?

One really exciting and jaw dropping experience in this new foods research endeavor of mine is the surprises I run into. I have been trying to study the eating habits of the South during depression and found it to be incredibly interesting and just down right incredible. I am trying to bring back some of the foods back for with new presentations and flavors. People on the farms for the most part ate better or at least more nutritionally than those in the city. This was not a formulated or... Sign in to see full entry.

THIS IS WHAT IS HAPPENING IN MY TINY WORLD.

I played hookey today, yep I did it for sure. George took the market for me, I am very tired but I am doing okay, working here anyway. I worked very hard all week and I am working today but the rewards have been lovely. I made three new products that I really love. 1) Dancing Figs. This is made of fresh Mission Figs called the Brown Turkeys and they are cooked and float whole in Fig jelly. 2) Mango Sunshine. This is a chutney made of mango slices, pineapple chunks, apples, pecans, walnuts and... Sign in to see full entry.
