~~MUSER HAS LANDED~~MAGNOLIAS WILL FLOURISH~~

About two years ago I was perusing the new writers and came upon a Southern drawl that was unmistakable. I had discovered a Blogit Magnolia for sure. I ventured to ask about this fact and she filled me in on just how much she knew about Magnolias and indeed she, herself was one to be sure. She informed me she was a Barbed-wire Magnolia. Her mother a Peach Magnolia from southern Georgia married a West Texan thus putting sharp barbs on the sweetness of the Georgia Magnolias. Needless to say I fell... Sign in to see full entry.

TODAY I JUST NEED A LAUGH

Time may be a great healer, but it's a lousy beautician. *************************** Talk is cheap because supply exceeds demand. *************************** Even if you are on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there. *************************** Politicians and diapers have one thing in common. A NEW DAY DAWNS ~ LIFE GOES ON AND ON AND ON!

I remember when I was younger, in fact much younger, I thought all happenings not related to the present were antiquated; therefore not of any significant value. My parents would tell of life in the time of their growing up and I was sure this was such an insignificant tid-bit of information I would never need, use or certainly want. They just kept the stories coming even when I scoffed at them. How very smart they were. I did not think that at the time. I was sure I was of the age that began... Sign in to see full entry.

CALANDER MARKED 'UNHAPPY DAY"!

Once this was considered a very happy day in my life. It all began on June 4, 1960 @ 2:17 a.m.. I was in the hospital having the earth shattering sort of pains that one forgets immediately after the last necessary one ebbs to screaming and flows to nothingness. Somebody told me I had a beautiful little baby boy. I wanted to see him, did get just a glimpse of him before they whisked him away to attend him. It appeared he had some sort of breathing problem. Oh when I did get to see him he was just... Sign in to see full entry.

WHO COULD DO THIS? WHO IS THIS EVIL?

Police found a 1 year old when they made a welfare check on a home in Garden Grove, California. What is so unusual about this? She was dehydrated, cracked lips, had been kicked, beaten and left for dead. She had had no food or water for three days. She was alone except for the dead bodies of her parents. The little child was excited to see a live body and clung to the police smiling because she had survived an indescribable ordeal all alone. The police said she would have in fact been dead had... YOU'RE NOT MY MOMMY. OH MY GOD YOU'RE DEAD!

A mother and father sit at the bedside of their daughter, Laura, waiting anxiously for her to come out of a comma. Weeks earlier their Laura was in an auto accident where four students and an employee had died. Laura and her friend Whitney both were blond and had an uncanny resemblance to one another. Whitney was buried a few weeks ago in Gaylord, Michigan. Most of the people were buried in closed caskets. There was a lot of swelling and some lacerations explained the hospital when it was... HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH DISAPPOINTMENT?

I remember when I was almost sixteen years old I saw a car. Well it may as well have been the first one I had seen because it made all the others look like buggies. Only the very wealthy families bought their children cars, I am not even sure they did, when I was sixteen. But I had a dream. I wanted a car. Of course there was a place in me that knew this was not going to happen, but I had a dream. On a car lot in our town, a GM lot, all car lots were either GM or Ford product lots, this jewel... I HAVE A STATEMENT THAT IS POLITICALLY, RELIGIOUSLY AND MORALLY CORRECT.

Please bear with me I am a little slow today. I am a bit tired, didn't get much sleep. I wound up in the hospital for a few hours last night; couldn't breathe well, had four ankles but only two feet and blood pressure was out the roof. I called the nurse line that represents my insurance company. She suggested I call 911 and go to the hospital. I asked if my husband's taking me would not be just as well. She insisted on talking with him and he would not hear of my not going. I had all sorts of... Sign in to see full entry.

THOSE PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN MY BLOGIT NEIGHBORHOOD

When I was growing up my neighborhood was very large with few people. It was a rural neighborhood. This was so different than a city neighborhood. It made absolutely no difference if a family was 'up-standing' or not, had money or were near begging when they were in need. Perhaps that is the way Blogit is. I have lots of regular friends on here. Many of them don't know they are my friends. I read and appreciate their work and many never come by my place or if they do they don't leave a comment.... DECORATION DAYS DO YOU HAVE THEM?

Down South we keep all sorts of festival days. We will meet you here next year at the same time if you can think of any good reason like fried chicken and some blue grass for an example. We have family cemeteries too. At one time these were little plots on the property but then we built churches and made a part of the land adjacent to the church a part of the family plots. It was usually a family who built the church. Yesterday was one of those days for me. It was so different than in the past.... Sign in to see full entry.

SONS ON DIFFERENT SIDES OF HORROR-WHAT'S A MOTHER TO DO?

Only children are different. They miss a lot. They get a lot of both bad and good because the parents are watching every aspect of their lives. As an only child I didn't have a clue about raising siblings. When my boys would get into a disagreement that required duking it out as they called it my first instinct was to run hide under the bed. But what I ended up doing was making them stop, separating them and giving time outs or some such until they could make up. At least that is my best memory... Sign in to see full entry.

HAVE YOU BEEN PATCHED?

The decade of 1970... I had three children who wanted every single stitch of clothing they owned to be patched. Each was to say something clever etc., now we leave the holes there so we can see something clever, cute and totally not unlike any other! Today I got patched! Yep, patched! I got a fat patch! The lady told me it should go on a thin spot so it could go into the bloodstream with less effort. I didn't have one of those except my wrists, so I stuck it smack on there. I asked my husband to... IT WAS A REALLY GOOD MOTHER'S DAY!

Today was the best Mother's Day! My daughter cooked and we visited. She didn't do the thing of gifts. She wrote me a lette. In this letter she simply stated how I measured up as a mother to her now that she was a mother. She signed it with the names of all three of my children, even the two that are dead..... It was a good day despite the loss, the hollow spots and the what ifs! Yes it was good. Sign in to see full entry.

It's my party...sure I'm going to cry if you don't come over!

All you dysfunctional members of the Blogit family; even the ugly, beautiful, skinny, fat, and all the in-betweens. I missed you! Untie that fatted heifer, bring out the smoker we are having a party the prodigal daughter is home again. Don't come without bearing gifts like a ring and a robe you know the act. I have changed my name to Justi... I figured what you didn't know you weren't willing to let me tell you anyway and Scoop shortened it long time ago. I think it was because he could not... NEAR EASTER FULL MOON ONE THE CHURCH

George took this photograph of the St. William's Catholic Church with a cross on the steeple into the Full Moon. This was done last year. I wanted to leave some of these pre-Easter photos before I go. Sign in to see full entry.

SOUTHERN GAL SEEKING HEAT!

It's that darn cloud that is bringing in the cold. It is 48º right now. I see that the moon is trying to make an appearance too and is finding it just to cold to show up. We are real wimps down south. I can't get away from the heat. Since it is evenly distributed throughout the house I go to the kitchen and cook. The stove, dishwasher, refrigerator and freezer motors all give off a certain amount of heat and I cook for everybody when it is cold. I make meals for future use and bake. I am like a... WHO TURNED OFF THE HEAT?

Day before yesterday it was warm, beautiful and cozy, today it is 45º and last night was in the thirtys. Am I whinning? Yes! I don't want my flowers to die. Look at beautiful Iris blossoms all over my yard in all colors. These are the gifts God gives us who can't get to or live in the tropics with the beautiful flowers. It made me aware of all of you who have had such cold and bad weather this year, I am praying for you. I hope the sun comes out soon and brightenes up your day. I also want your... YOU GUYS ARE THE GREATEST********

I can't believe all of you left me such sweet comments while I was away from Blogit. I loved all of them. Thank you so very much. That made me feel great! Oh, oh and oh my goodness it is good for your marriage to steal your hubby away. We did not go far away. We did not even go to one of those fab places where you could trample the grapes they give you a massage with before a dunk in the 400 bubble jet tubs spa and such. No we did not! We locked the office, the work shop, the laundry room and... Sign in to see full entry.

THANKS TO ALL OF YOU WHO LABOR AT BLOGGING

It is so inspiring to me that some of you write several blogs each day. Many refresh their one, two or more blogs daily. I really admire that. Not only that you write that much but you have something new and fresh to say every time. I like to keep my readership up because I miss you when you don't click and leave me a little 'hello'. If I come by and find you haven't been there (at your blog house) for a couple of days I immediately wonder if you are not well, did you run away with the circus or... Sign in to see full entry.
