It's a return of spring today, warm and sunny, and the plants are again on the back porch. It's another return, too. This evening will bring the first live theater we've attended since all this pandemic moved in and changed our lives. MEDEA is being presented by the theater students of the U of Colorado Colorado Springs. This is Charlie's alma mater and promises to be a beautiful offering, directed by Kevin Landis. He is the prof responsible for bringing some of the finest theater and... Sign in to see full entry.

After the Dance Is Over...
The Oddities Expo was over at 4 yesterday afternoon, and we were packed and loaded up by 4:30. That is a mastery of the quick and easy in/out of vendor events! By the end of two or three days, that's the greatest thing, to not spend another hour or more packing stuff and hauling it out to one's vehicle. All hail simplicity! We picked up Chinese food on the way home, to celebrate and begin recovery from Charlie's best show ever, so far! We ate while watching another episode of AMERICAN GODS--a... May Day and The Day After
Yesterday was bright and hot, mid-80sF, and all the while Charlie and I were indoors at the Oddities & Bizzarre Expo. Maybe the fine weather had something to do with it, maybe so many now-vaccinated people getting out, maybe have a bit of extra to spend after months of staying home and not spending... Anyway, Charlie had his best day of event business ever! All the regular Wasteland Bears found new best friends, and the grand piece on the table, a weird papier-mache skull he made just this week... The weekend is upon us!
Charlie got a call on Monday from the organizer of the Oddities and Bizzarities Expo which we attended as vendors a couple of years ago. He didn't apply this year for a variety of reasons, but she wanted to fill a table that someone else had cancelled on for this weekend's event. She offered him a deal on the space cost. He asked a few questions about pandemic precautions, and decided to do it. He set up his basic display on Thursday though the show opens tomorrow morning. Then he went home and... Vet Day
Embers managed to get an appointment this very morning from the vet who did her dental work several years ago, to have a loose canine tooth removed. It was easy enough and did not require anesthesia, but she did get an antibiotic shot. She also got her front, declawed feet examined as they seemed a little odd when I felt them, trying to discover why she worries at them so much. It has something to do with getting old, a condition where soft tissues between bone and pad diminishes. Another... Sign in to see full entry.

A beautiful day in the neighborhood
This weekend promises spring warmth both days, and freezing temps each night. So the plants remain indoors, but I spent some time outdoors this morning digging down into the pots that wait for eager roots. The compacted soils with old decaying roots got squeezed and scattered into loose soil, some more loamy, some more sandy. The pot that holds the volunteer seeds from last year's morning glories I mostly left alone, knowing they will manage nicely without interference. I might try for sweet... Sign in to see full entry.

The weekend looms...
I finally got it done...! I got all the papers together and took them to the tax man. As happens every year, we will likely file the extension. I mention it as a pat on my own back, as there is an anxiety that fires up in January every year, and it gets more intense until I actually get the numbers delivered. Adding to the delay factor, it has become easier and easier to simply not go out this past year. Speaking of home-bodies, the dovelings are flying, though not far from home, and I saw one... Climb every mountain...
I traded in my flip phone for a smart phone last week. For the first few days, I couldn't figure out how to answer a phone call. This weekend, I missed a call because the ringer somehow went to silent mode. It's not like I get many calls that are not spam, so this was really upsetting. Today I tried to sign up with Spotify at the behest of my daughter who plans to post a podcast there, and discovered someone else has been using my email to sign on... and their music taste is definitely not mine.... Bleak and chilly days
It's a dreary day outside, temps around 40F, which is 4.44444... Celsius. It's raining just a little. My heart is sad, too, as our Kabu sits with John who contemplates the Rainbow Bridge before him. Despite my spiritual perspective on the passage from life, the heart is of the body and the mind, feels sorrow, and laments such loss. The event that was planned for the Compass Rose Stage tomorrow has been cancelled due to the cold and incontinent weather. It is not a day anyone would wish to attend... Sign in to see full entry.
