Thanks, Kabu--I didn't expect so many years when I brought her home, already 15 years old, but her golden eyes were irresistible! She liked people, enjoyed visitors even up to the night before.

Yes, she had a long life, though I could never find out much about it before I brought her home. She went very peacefully as I held her. I couldn't stop petting her for a while after. It's hard to know sometimes how much we do for pets is for them, how much is for ourselves.

I am so sorry you had to say goodbye to Embers. She was such a character and adored you. When I imagine what the last years of her life may have been I feel sograteful you and her found each other. Just like i know Wiley and Graysome discoveed each other. That mutual feeling of Yes, this is the one.

It is tough Ciel, but such an age for a cat is remarkable. One has to think of the animal, not oneself, it goes to sleep and is at peace. I just feed a stray but it goes off and comes when it feels like doing so.

I feel for you - it is crazy hurt when we have to let a pet go. When the time is right, fostering is a good idea, and many rescues will welcome your help.
