Here it comes...
While it is not strictly speaking legal to have private fireworks of a certain size, nor to set them off except on July 4, throughout American neighborhoods there have been fireworks as loud as bombs going off all this past month. At first, just the occasional, unexpected, startling BOOM! but these increase as the 4th approaches. Last night was pretty noisy. Tonight they will let out all the stops.
