we could expect as much as a meter of snow this weekend. We rushed out, along with just about everyone else, making sure to have basics in the pantry and candles if the lights go out, and charcoal (to be used in the open garage) if the stove and microwave goes out. The fridge shutting down is no problem, with all of outdoors below freezing. We found things sold out at the big grocery store: no celery, no diet coke, no pull-date bread...
