Years ago, when I was 9 or 10, my dad went to Lancaster PA on business, and visited the Lancaster Farmer's Market. He brought home some immense, wonderful beefsteak tomatoes. They were the best tomatoes I've ever tasted! We ate em whole, like plums, they were so delicious! You can still find the huge, perfect beefsteak tomato. But somewhere along the long road to perfection of form, they lost their content: the flavor that makes you just close your eyes and smile, as you savor each bite. Lately,...
