Here is what happens on a normal day in the Miami life of vogue: first I went to South Beach because I wanted to get some nice pictures of Espanola Way, a historic Spanish village off Lincoln's road, which nowadays is of course a tourist attraction and features plenty of restaurants and shops but,... Utter bliss!
I knew why I choose to live in Miami. What a blissful sunday. My inner clock is still a bit out of kilter, which means I woke up at 3 am and couldn't go back to sleep. So, I did what needed doing, I cleaned my apartment and by the time the sun came up and I was ready for my morning swim, the place... Sign in to see full entry.

Home sweet home
Hard to believe, but I have eventually made it back! It feels as if I have traveled around the world instead of going in a relatively straight line from east to west for a few thousand miles. But the experience, especially the over nighter in Heathrow"s terminal 5 is worth having. For one it has... Sign in to see full entry.

Withdrawl syptom
One day not reading and writing on blogit and I'm really missing it. However, my excuse is, that I got carried away by re-reading 'The Great Gatsby' by one of my favorite writers, Scott Fitzgerald. The others being John Steinbeck, Marcel Proust and Oscar Wilde. I picked up Gatsby again, because the... Sign in to see full entry.

Travel boots are being dusted again..
In two days I'm off back on my way to Miami. As there are no direct flights from Istanbul to Miami I have, yet again, to go by a somewhat roundabout way. Last time it was via Germany, this time it is via London. There is also no connection for the same day, so I have to continue the next and spend... Sign in to see full entry.

What irks me is..
when people refer to another person as a 'thing.' You read and hear the following so often: 'oh, my wife, husband, girlfriend, children etc are the best thing that has happened in my life.' I know, it's a matter of speech, but in my opinon it's demeaning. A person is a person, never a thing and the... Sign in to see full entry.
Heartfelt thanks and the happy face is back!
Thanks so much for your kind words and the best of all is, that no one told me off and 'shouted' at me to stop being silly and feeling sorry for myself without any reason whatsoever. If these moods overcome you, they feel very serious at the time, but then, when they lift, I do feel silly. So, it's... Sign in to see full entry.

Why blogit is like family...
First, because so many of you kindly revealed what their favorite writing clothes are. That was great fun and fun is definitely needed today. For some inexplicable reason a big dark cloud was hanging over my mood all day long. Thoughts like: I'm old, I'm fat, I'm ugly, nobody loves me, I'm a... Sign in to see full entry.

What do you wear?
Nautikos' comment on my previous post has triggered this one. What a poetic description of a writer's den and surroundings to be creative. Wearing a caftan, what an image. Now, I wonder, is there a particular outfit you like to wear when writing? Something that helps the mind along? Do you write... Sign in to see full entry.
