I look at those deserted buildings and want to see them closer...
How abandoned are they?  And why?  They look like good houses, good places to live in, to look out of the windows from.

Have safe travels. It does look like an artist colony. Fitzgerald did some good writing. Be blessed.

I started reading The Great Gatsby a few years ago...
...and made it a third of the way through, before forgetting about it. Maybe I'll pick it up again someday.

I love these little deserted places in the mountains or way out there in the country side. And you're right, it does look like a nice spot for artsy type or space cadets... Maybe one day I'll accompany you up there... Who knows? We could sip a nice glass of wine while looking at the grass growing!

It does look pretty romantic... your abandoned village I mean... I wonder how much something like that would cost... and wouldn't it be fun... for a bunch of artists to buy it up and make it into something unique...  That book you were reading is one of my favs... the movie was OK... but the book was fabulous... Maybe we should start some kind of a book club... all reading great old novels at the same time and commenting on it... I love to hear what others get out of something I have read... usually I learn from their takes... Oh VOgue, hurry home we miss you.  xoxo

Vogue

For me, the photos invoke a sense of romance – a village that used to be full of life and love (perhaps even secret love).  Although the people who at one time lived there (in my imagination) had a hard and difficult life they also lived with a joie de vivre.
