Heal Over

I've been listening to a terrific new, emerging singer who writes all her own music. The song "Heal Over" was playing in the background while was reading some blogs. I’d brought up a posting about weeds and how I responded to it. Brettnik had posted a metamorphic summation about thoughts, ending in “Our thoughts can strangle us if we're not careful.” My thoughts are like weeds this morning. Yes, thoughts can be like weeds - choking, killing, numbing, overwhelming!! Yet thoughts can be as... Sign in to see full entry.

The Stage Was Set

Nothing was truer than the old saying, “You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink.” That applied to my husband the night of our 29th Anniversary. I got dressed in my new “Wal-Mart-find” peasant blouse, fixed my hair and face, and took off for a little last-minute shopping. Since we weren’t going to spring for a B&B, I went back to the only place in town (Wal-Mart) and found a set of 350 thread-count satin sheets. They were half the price of BB&B satin sheets that we had shopped... Sign in to see full entry.

Today I Celebrate My Love

Today I celebrate the vows I made to my husband 29 years ago. It is our 29th anniversary. We made it this far. I posted a new photograph in my blog that we took of ourselves. Our plans for today include a picnic with champagne; it's a beautiful day, just like it was on our wedding day. The same flowers are blooming that bloomed that day. We've got plans to keep it in budget, which means we're broke as usual. We're going to a local restaurant that has been open a few months and we wanted to just... Sign in to see full entry.

The Ice Queen Reigneth

I've been staying up too late. I think outside the box in the wee hours. I had just written the blog about being a curious cat when the lights went off in my head. I wondered if my husband used the same old password? I was pretty sure he had accessed his e-mail from home. In about ten minutes or so, I was in! I listened for the sounds of his CPAP machine in the bedroom next door. As long as it was consistent with no interruptions, I would know he was sleeping. Sometimes he wakes up and comes to... Curiosity Killed the Cat

Have I got an unusual quandary? It's one I doubt has an answer but it sure has had my curiosity going. Mike had written an e-mail to both Jay and I last week. It was written more to Jay about me and in a very polite, almost formal manner. Jay said he was going to write back, which he did on Sunday, at my request. Let me explain. I had sent Mike an inspirational book for his birthday, which was March 17. He had returned it (which he addressed in the joint e-mail, like he was tattling on me) but I... The Earth Moved - I Swear It!

****************************************************************************************** You and I were finally getting back together after my six-week long trip to visit my oldest sister’s family, stationed at Weisbaden Air Force Base in Germany. Their house in the little town of Erbach was quite modern. The picture (below) was posed on their curving marble staircase. I had a blue outfit identical to the pink one that my niece, Vicki, is wearing in the photo below. It was the same print, same... Sign in to see full entry.

The Last Time Ever I Talked to Him

I got one more email from Mike and this one was to me alone and sounded like the old Mike again. He said, “We need to talk. How about 10:00?” It had been since October since I’d talked to him on the phone. However, by the time I’d read my mail, it was 9:30 since Jay and I had “slept in” (wink wink) and he needed my number in order to call. I emailed my number and said I’d be waiting. The call came around 10:15. There was awkward silence. Then he told me about his trip to India he had just... Sign in to see full entry.

A Surprise E-Mail

Are you ready for this? I got a surprise email from Mike about 2:30 in the morning. I stayed up ALL night answering him. Jay read through Mike's 3rd person letter very quickly this morning and concluded 'he sounds lonely.' Steph, who was supposed to drive me to my appointment at the med center this morning, was zonked out cold. There was no rousing her. She's been without her HGH injections for two weeks until the lab and the insurance company get it together. That's a whole other story. Jay got... Sign in to see full entry.

Temptations?

Who is control of your temptations? Do you control your environment or does temptation just appear, wiggling it's finger at you, pulling you into its spell? The biggest question is, can you still control your environment if it is just a nibble or a bite or will you eat the whole thing? Mike made an analogy of me as a temptation. I waved it aside. I should have taken him as seriously as he meant it. He compared me to having a carton of his favorite ice cream in the freezer while trying to lose... Sign in to see full entry.

Avenue's Closed

Hello Mike. I’m dipping a wing. I was in Wichita for a visit again – first one since October. It threw me a lot of triggers (which is why I’m writing to say “HI”). That’s where your world with me fell apart because of “the spy.” God and Mary have closed avenues available for me to reach you one by one. I have figured out a few things: 1) I tried blocking my name from AOL to my Yahoo account to see how it works. I’m pretty sure you put a block on my name after Dec. 20. It’s a gentle way of...
