My facebook profile started so I could keep in contact with my son who is in college. he upset me because he didn't wish me a happy mothers day..so I have deleted the acct. I think the social mediums..fb, twitter,ect..is a wast of a person's time and productivity...especially when you are ignored by your won kid!

Justi~
I use facebook as a ministry by posting Bible verses there daily.  Facebook can be used for good.

Unfortunately facebook users if they want people to get to know them and link to them as new friends tend to give quite a bit of information even photos of family or friends on their sites. It can be a surprise to find yourself among the ones they have shared with other people. But I am sure your daughter just wanted to let people know you are a special part of her life :)

Having read adnhor's comment it's sounds like a well intended gesture but I'm pretty private myself and my daughter would know not to post a picture of me unless she had cleared it with me first.

Justi, I dont have facebook or twitter and prefer the privacy too. It is something that I value.

As much as we may not like the taste of it...Blogit is a social media. So it is not that they are bad as much as it is that they take over our lives to a point that they push all else aside...even God. We must monitor our time and our information when ever we use the internet.

I am never going on Face book for many reasons neither will I twitter
i still prefer the phone and the email. I did read adnohrs response and that makes it sound a lovely gesture...really proud love.

i did the same.....my mom and her siblings were posted as my pic on mother's day as well as i wrote a tribute to all mom's......

I can explain what happened, Justi. To honor our mothers, many of us replaced our own pictures with one of our mom, just for the last 4 or 5 days before Mother's Day. Most of us also wrote a short note the first day her picture was posted, publicly expressing our thanks to our moms for having been there for us, and telling her, and anyone reading our entries, how proud we were, and how much we loved her. It started with one person (I beleive with our own Cricket from Blogit!), and spread like wildfire. I'm sure your daughter meant well, and probably didn't realize that it would feel like an intrusion to you. I hope this helps?

Well Justi I did have a jolly person who must have felt quite friendly offered to supply me with special viagra tablets only this moment ago. Seriously though I have not got enough energy to expound to contact so many. Even here I feel we surround one another with suspicion until we feel relaxed enough to to realize we are connecting to someone like a good neighbor, or a friend. Of course young people probably like the buzz of pretending to be what ever they wish and I do understand how Tzippy finds it good fun and I expect some lonely people enjoy the company. As she suggest however no personal details one does not want a hundred thousand viewers looking on your holiday prospects or one's photo.
