Great story! Whenever I hear of Gypsies, I think of their music. There is that marvellous tradition of Hungarian Gypsy music, and there's that written by 'serious' composers, such as Brahms and Sarasate...

TAPS & UTAH J

God has a wonderful way of telling us to step aside, sometimes we do sometimes we don't and other-times we can't. Love you guys.

I remember going to a Halloween party that Daddy had told me "NO" before he went off to work on the 4-12 shift.  I thought he would never know, but he always knew.  It was quite a party, but I felt uncomfortable the whole time I was there.  Years later, the fellow who threw the party was stabbed to death in the state prison where he was because he had killed someone.

I call it 'that wee small voice' that comes to warn us of danger, others may call it the Holy Ghost. I loved the story and unfortunately it is not just little girls we must worry about, it never has been. The bad man comes for all the little boys and girls. Thank you for posting this and may God bless you always.

My Mother was very careful of her two little girls as well and like you I had no idea what a bad man might do to me that could be worse than being killed.

Great story and so well written and what a good yard stick about the feeling in the chest. I could have used that idea a few times in my life me thinks. Sigh!!! xx

It is interesting reading about how things were in those days.

Gypsies are more modern these days Justi, but I guess girls had to be careful in those times. If you had been kidnapped and turned into a gypsy you might be trying to sell George a lucky charm today.
