Got him!
Despite schedules and timings, we did, in fact, pick up my step-grandson from the airport last night, and he is officially into the first day of his adventure, passing from childhood and parental supervision into this transition to Real Life. He is not quite yet 18, so that makes his Uncle Charlie and me his 'in loco parentes.' Loco certainly applies...!
