Sometimes, by accident, Mom made a joke, or at least said a thing out of the blue that made us all laugh. Like the time the old, old plastic radio that had delivered morning news and evening news daily throughout the 1960s quit working, and she informed us that "It blew its little guts." On the occasion I write of today, her remark stimulated a response from Dad that was marvelous in our ears because he so rarely let his mouth get him in trouble.
