Listening to the morning

A red-winged blackbird just sang out from the top of a nearby tree. They fly up from the reeds in the little wetland area a block away, where a stream slides through a low area, and has been granted about 100 feet of land on either side, sloping down from city streets and buildings. The blackbirds are singing down there all the time, so it's a treat to hear one's bright trill, up here. Other songbirds are singing loudly and a lot.
