Wind is up and so is the temperature. We expect rain later today. But the great shelf of snow on this one branch of a fir tree behind the house has resisted avalanching for a week now, since it first landed there. I have watched it, anticipating, this whole week, and now that the snow bombs have fallen from branches all around it, this one remains. Of course it will go. Sooner or later, and probably when I am not looking. I can see it from here, looking out the window above the desk where I sit... Sign in to see full entry.
