Beethoven's Ninth
is playing even now as I write... But not the way we heard it Sunday afternoon in Benaroya Hall, played by the Seattle Symphony, Gerard Schwartz conducting. He looked like he was having a grand, grand time! The concert began with Beethoven's First Symphony, which is always a pleasure--I like all of his symphonies very much! Then, after an intermission, the Ninth. Our seats were in the center of the main floor but towards the back. (Next time, I will spring for the seats closer in where the music...
