People Are Planets...

...that do sometimes collide... We explore those planets when we go inside another person's thought and feeling, discover what the silver atmosphere's concealing; Different laws of nature may apply to different creatures under different sky. A world may be hostile to our hearts, our breath... May lead us far astray into confusion, into troubles, even into death... Yet, some planets do attract us by the soul and so connect us: Thus between us we are whole-- sashaying through the cosmos twirling... Sign in to see full entry.

The darkest days are past

Winter Solstice marks the end of the declining days of the year, even though for many of us it is only the start of winter. Cold it may be, and grey and bleak across the landscape, but the days are growing longer, and nights, shorter once again, changing just as fast as autumn days brought us to the longest night. Everything the world presents us is or can be a metaphor, reminding us of something true on higher levels: the particular revealing the unversal. It's one of the ways the Universe (or... Happiness runs...

... in a circular motion, life is just a little boat upon the sea. Everybody is a part of everything anyway! You can be happy if you let yourself be! That was a little round that we used to sing. CCT said something about there being no road-map to happiness, and it got me thinking about how we think about happiness. Here are some of the thoughts... puzzle-pieces of the puzzle of happiness. A couple of months ago, someone gave me a desk, and I found in the drawer a little card that says in bold... Sign in to see full entry.

Past Lives, Reincarnation...

This is an interesting article, whether you've decided what you believe about these things, or not. http://blogs.scientificamerican.com/bering-in-mind/2013/11/02/ian-stevensons-case-for-the-afterlife-are-we-skeptics-really-just-cynics/?WT_mc_id=SA_WR_20131107 It doesn't answer all questions, in fact, it doesn't answer any. It just lays out some evidence offered by someone who does not appear to have been either a resident of LaLaland, or a devotee of any particular religion. In fact, as it... The Devil and the Flesh and the Sacred Trinity

We are spirit, we have bodies. I know, I've said it before, but I can't emphasize this point too much. Once this realization sinks in, so many things change, make sense, fall into place! Do I believe in God? Yes, it flows naturally and necessarily, from the evolvement of the spirit, growing and learning always and ever, that every spirit is on a path to Godhood. Not to becoming individual Gods, but to realizing our one-ness with that for which God is a very inadequate name. Some call it coming... Sign in to see full entry.

The Silver Lining

One of the first questions Man asked the heavens was, Why do bad things happen to good people? And religionists, philosophists and all of us are still asking, and trying to come up with reasonable answers. Acceptible answers, that let us accept disasters and traumas in our lives, and in the world around us. One kind of answer is the one that blames us, ourselves, the victims of disaster: We offended God, we are being punished, we deserved this. Another kind simply denies reason: There is no... Some youngest children are more terrifying than others.

http://now.msn.com/youngest-child-characteristics-24-signs-youre-the-baby I saw the pengin clip a long time ago, and was thinking about it the other day... what a treat, it pops up again! Some of the rest of these are pretty funny... cute... alarming... Why this, in this blog? Because so much contributes to how a person views the world, other people, the Universe. Commenting on Mia's post...

I decided to copy over that comment here, because... well, it has a place in this blog. When people are fanatically dedicated to political or religious faiths or any other kind of dogmas or goals, it's always because these dogmas or goals are in doubt. -Robert M. Pirsig, author and philosopher (b. 1928 It has often been said that converts are the worst, the most in-your-face, self-righteous and devout in all the outward forms of any religious or political community. I think Mr. Pirsig is right,... Sign in to see full entry.

The Female Spirit: Song of the Soul, Bread and Roses

Kabu's tribute to the Pioneer Women, and TAPS recent post about the wanton destruction of the Pioneer Woman statue, for its scrap metal value, has reminded me of some songs. Music reaches the heart and soul when, sometimes, words aren't enough. Kabu's poetry is like such music, and TAPS words always reach the heart, in some part because we know her. Reading a news article doesn't do the same. These songs in particular have always moved me, because I hear truth in them.... Sign in to see full entry.
