This Top 25 Index of Popularity is based on the April 27 th update. I probably would have skipped this one if it were not for the fact that it is the first time since late last year that Everything Else has not been in the top spot for two consecutive days. Journal, at least temporarily, is the new... Sign in to see full entry.

Stability?
You tell me. Three days ago, as evidenced by the last Top 25 Index of Popularity I posted, it looked like things were shifting back to normal on good old Blogit. As the Index below shows, this may not be the case. There are changes aplenty. I’m not sure if they represent flux from the growth of the... Sign in to see full entry.

The Day After the Day After
Here is the Top 25 Index of Popularity as of the yesterday morning update. As far as the Index is concerned, things do appear to have stabilized a little. Only one category, Romance & Sex, made a jump of more than one spot up or down. In addition, the average ranks of the category Top 25s didn’t... Sign in to see full entry.

After the Aftermath
Next to the system being back up, the biggest surprise I got yesterday was the appearance of numbers that told me the system had updated a second time. I discovered this while working on the data for my previous post. Based on the trends indicated, I started checking my blogs to see if they... Sign in to see full entry.
The Aftermath
After the crash many of us could do little but wait to see when the system would be back up and what permanent damage, if any, had been done to us. I hope damage was slight for most of you. The ones most severely affected were our more prolific regular bloggers and any others, myself included, who... Sign in to see full entry.

Now you see it.
For most of a day you couldn't. Fortunately, I did the following chart in my word processer and pasted it to my last post. The accompanying commentary was composing here and will remain hidden until Blogit manages to correct the problem that makes it impossible to view most posts from the last two... Okay, breathe!
The waiting is over. Here it is, complete with all of the surprises I promised. What's that? You weren't holding your breath? You don't know what the hell I'm talking about? Shame on you. Over 30 hours ago I promised you a new Top 25 Index of Popularity. I thought I was going to deliver it about... Sign in to see full entry.

Good News -- Bad News
The good news is that the overall rankings were finally updated after two days. Earnings were updated yesterday, but for some unknown reason the overall rankings were not. The bad news is that the number of categories represented in the overall Top 100 dipped to 14. More good news is that all of the... Sign in to see full entry.

OhmyGod, my blog dropped a thousand spots to #1,739!
This time the blog in question is “Notapoet’s Notebook.” It peaked out at #635 on the fourth day of a post with the subject line: “Its all about me.” After that it declined steadily for six days until it hit #733 in the overall rankings. On the 11 th day it plummeted 1,006 spots to the... Sign in to see full entry.

Nobody's reading me! My blog is buried at #1,604.
Not true at all. At #1,604 a blog is at the lower end of average readership over the past 7 days. You're getting a few clicks more than hundreds of active blogs (blogs posted to within the last 30 days), and more clicks than thousands of blogs in the system. I'm talking to myself here. The blog I'm... Sign in to see full entry.

More About You
The ranking that follows indicates where Blogit's top bloggers are actually posting and how much you are reading them. If you look at the numbers and study them carefully, they will tell you where the action is. This, of course, is also where it is hardest too make your mark unless you are extremely... Its all about you.
In my last post to "Notapoet's Notebook" I stated "Its all about me." True enough. Writing, even when its slanted for a particular audience, is always a highly personal endeavor. Sometimes, as in the case with this blog, it can also be about and for the audience. I'm not talking about naming names... Sign in to see full entry.

Another ranking...groooaaannnnnn!
I've been putting this off since yesterday morning. Its becoming more and more of a chore to continue this because it takes so much time to do it properly. Time that I would now rather spend doing other things. Time that I need to devote to other projects. I've thought about discontinuing this blog.... Sign in to see full entry.

Its that time of the month again.
No! No! No! Not what you're thinking. I haven't shifted my emphasis in this blog to matters sexual. I don't have a one-track mind all of the time. Its time for my monthly tally of increases in blog population for the previous month. And what a month its been -- a net increase of 874 blogs! That... Sign in to see full entry.

Hurray for you, Blogiteers!
You've made me so proud. There were 18 different categories in the Top 100 Monday! This may be just a momentary blip on the radar screen of Blogit. Yet it shows that you truly are a bunch of crazies with many diverse interests in both your reading and writing. I had not intended to post another... Sign in to see full entry.

This comment...
probably should have been my post. It occurred to me that my off-the-cuff responses to comments, when they go beyond a simple "thank-you," are often better than the original post. Give this a read and tell me whatcha think: Thanks Foxy and Wiley... and all the rest of you who have been clicking and... Sign in to see full entry.

Seven Days
A week. Usually the seven days starting on Sunday and going through Saturday. That's right, Sunday is the first day of a traditional week, not the seventh or sabbath. A convenient measure of any period greater than five days (the number of fingers normally found on one hand) and less than 10 days... Sign in to see full entry.

It was a great idea, but...
I'm not too sure it was worth the effort. I've only got one ranking for you today, my latest version of the Top 25 Index of Popularity. The idea, compiling the information over a period of more than one day to present a more accurate picture of what Blogit is actually like, is sound. One of the... Sign in to see full entry.

Somethin' New, Sorta
One of the problems I have with some of my rankings is that, except for the ranking of categories by blog population, they are just snapshots of a single day on Blogit. This is fine as far as it goes. It just doesn't go far enough. The rankings that almost everyone is so hot and bothered about are... Sign in to see full entry.
