Thanks Foxy and Wiley...
and all the rest of you who have been clicking and reading while I've been dealing with personal issues and personal demons. Notapoet is alive and well.
Issues and demons remain, but he's an old battler who doesn't know how to quit. Like many an old dog, he sometimes has the need to find a quiet place where he can lick his wounds and reflect on his battles before jumping back into the fray. One can only hope he has become wiser in the process.
It is more than a little gratifying that this blog has survived six days of inactivity with any kind of rank at all. The fact that it remains about where it was a week ago seems more than a little amazing. Usually a blog that has been inactive for that long takes a serious nosedive.
I don't know what it is about this particular blog that enables it to maintain clicks. Frankly, I have considered dropping it several times. Its more trouble than its worth due to the amount of time I seem to keep putting into it. Time that would probably be more productive doing research and writing that might sell in the real world. This is one of the many issues I've been dealing with.
There is no final solution in sight. Just decisions to be made about whether to continue on as before, or to branch off on a different path to see where that might take notapoet.
As uncomfortable as change may be, especially as one grows older and more conservative, its often necessary to take a different path. It may not be as smooth a trip, and the final destination may end up being the same. But where is the adventure if nothing new is ever attempted?
There is no ranking after all this rambling. Not this morning. Perhaps there will be one of some sort later today. If it feels right. And if it doesn't require too much effort.
