Thanks for reading. I'm pleased you found it interesting. In answer to your question, the number in parentheses represents the average rank of all of that category's Top 25 blogs for the covered period. This is arrived at by adding the overall rank of each blog in the category's Top 25 and dividing by 25. To save time I usually take a shortcut that involves adding the overall rank of a given category's top blog and 25th blog. Dividing by 2 gives a result that varies only slightly from the more accurate long method.

Verrrry Interesting
Thanks for all the research. In the top 25, what does the parenthesized number represent? Valuable and interesting info, thanks again.

Notapoet,
I am at a loss to make a suggestion, even though I do try to follow what you are doing.
My real problem is, I do not understand this Blogit in the first place.
After nearly a year I have earnings of what, maybe $13.00, other people that have been here for a month have more than that. Does that tell me I'm a lousy writer ?/ If so, I'd better get off and go study or something.
I will not play for the clicks, I do try to learn to write, enjoy the writings of others and make many comments on those writings.
I am cutting back on the number of blogs I write, because I have lost the energy to write in so many places. By reading you I have determined the two best places for me to write in, so I thank you for your blogs.
In my estimation, Blogit ought to have some kind of better payment schedule for those of us who do so much reading and commenting. There are a lot of people that do a lot of reading.
Payment should not be made so much to those that can just blog one post after another, or those that know how to employ click tricks, or those that use the names of others, (no longer members of blogit,) to write blogs.
No, I think if Blogit doesn't address some of these issues, it is inevitable that boredom will settle in on most of us, and we will move on to more fruitful endeavours.

You pretty much covered all of the bases.
Very perceptive, Darlin'. One would hope that quality would have more to do with it. But quantity and popularity seem to be the overriding factors. The same as in the real world. If quality were the main factor, our "best-seller" lists would have quite a different look to them.

I agree that the core of the top 100 would remain the same
with some changes at the peripheries - people floating in and out and the occasional high ranker pulling out
