Whole Wheat and Art

Well, here you have it. On my first morning in Amsterdam, at 7.30 AM Agnes and I walked to the bakery, which only sells whole wheat products. Off to Europe

Tonight I leave for Europe, to visit friends in the Netherlands and France. My husband had a work assignment which is taking him to Washington DC (Where I lived for 8 years). Intimacy!

The Hangman

On Sunday I saw a film called The Hangman. Made by an Indian film director, it is the story of a man (Shiva) whose job was to hang people, a profession he inherited from his father. Coolers to beat the heat

Coolers are life savers in the hot Indian climate. I have several favourites. These are aam panna; bael sherbet; nimboo pani and lassi. Aam panna is made from raw mangos ( aam ). Loquats-A delight for the tongue and eyes

Do you know this fruit? It's called loquat and I just finished a small bowl of these. Two days ago, my husband was shopping for groceries and asked what I wanted. Something special, I said. About this Blog

I started this blog in mid-March 2006 when I moved to Kabul, Afghanistan, for a four-month assignment. In mid-July I moved back to India, and am continuing the blog.
