Starting the week on a Tuesday

Nice morning here, with some high clouds, but clear air between here and the mountains. Again, the weather forecast promises thunderstorms later in the day, but they never came close yesterday. If there isn't rain today, it will be sprinkler-time tonight in the garden. Yesterday was a pretty much do-nothing day. I did drive Charlie out to the craft store and we had lunch out--totally blowing the keto thing! Then went back to the comfy chair and tv. Someone in the neighborhood chose the hour... Bang Boom Rain and Hail!

I hope you're having a good July 4th--Independence Day if you are American, Ungrateful Peasants Day if you are British, the 4th day of the 7th month, if you are neither! Here, the actual 4th, I have heard one sizzling sparkler this morning, and just now, nearly 4:30pm, the first boombang. Last night, at the fading of dusk, neighbors all around were firing off their illegal, professional-grade stuff. And bottle-rockets and spark fountains and all the rest. Sunny Saturday

A little warmer today, but still not much into the 80s, and storms are forecast. They were yesterday, though, as well, and didn't happen. We had a wonderfully clear sky for the first night in a while. Saturn was brilliant to the south! Thursday's bbq was totally rained out, and the storms went on into the night. Some kid with a shiny trail bike has been thinking it would be cool to rev up and tear screaming down the block--again and again! And again...! It's rude at noon. Imagine how rude I... BBQ Day again!

After a good sleep, it's a lovely morning! Sun's shining on a day of clear, fresh-washed air after a night of distant thunderstorms and some local rain. The temps will reach mid-70s today, they promise, and there are likely to be scattered thunderstorms again later. It's BBQ Day here, and may yet happen, despite the forecast, as they may be scattered over other parts of the Springs. Garden Tuesday

The trip to see my sister was very satisfying! We were about the first OutWorlders to visit the place since it has just re-opened to visitors, and she introduced us to everyone as she showed us around the place. The dining room has also just re-opened for lunch, and there was a bit of an air of celebration. They have much to celebrate: During the lock-down days, over the past 18 months, the whole place had only 3 cases of covid, all staff. Her apartment is very like the house in Estes Park, with... Cool Saturday

While the Pacific NW gets set for temps above 100F, Colorado's Front Range is having a positively chilly weekend. The high today is expected in the mid-60s, and overnight dipped to 54. I actually closed all the windows and the glass doors which were open all night, and turned on the heat this morning! Light rains and thunderstorms are forecast throughout the day. Heat wave breaks in the Springs!

It was hard to get to sleep last night, even with the fan blowing in the night-cooling air. But today the temps won't be nearly as hot, and the rest of the 10-day forecast promises highs in the 60s! Thunderstorms are promised later today and tomorrow, just rain on Sunday and Monday, then more of both during the week. Excellent! Tuesday evening

Today, while Charlie and I drove up to Aurora, CO, to pick up a free couch to replace his old broken down one, some people showed up and replaced the broken down sidewalk in front of our house. I expect they were sent by the city. We don't have the kind of remedial hooligans they have in New Zealand who remove small dead trees from neighborhood gardens in the middle of the night.
